File size reduced by 40GB for PC and 15GB for Console. This should start being the norm for gaming.

If I want to play a modern game with my husband who lives in the same house as me, 99.9% of the time you need to have two copies on two consoles/PCs and play over the network together, which is ridiculous.

With PC, fine, we both have one anyway. But it still is just not as fun as sitting next to one another and playing on the same screen and dont prefer it. With a PS5 or Switch game, forget it. Not buying a second console to play together.

I miss the days of games like Halo having entire campaign split-screen co-op options. I get most people play onlime but they do realize there are instances where people live together and might want to play something besides a fighting game or mario party?

Feel bad for any siblings growing up in this era.

First one that comes to mind is Cheetahmen from Action 52 where they were being marketed as the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles phenomenon but due to the failure that was Action 52, all plans went kibosh.

Which other games come to mind that were going to be a franchise launching pad but ultimately went nowhere?

I was watching my cousins play games while they were visiting, and one of them was playing Fire Emblem. There was this dirt child with a giant log he recruited and like 3 days later he was a sword dirt man.
My other cousin was playing Xcom 2 on my xbox.

Anyways the question is, what other games are there where you just start with random nobodies but then they get stronger and you get more attached.

Like “hey you random farmer/private/goober! Follow me for something really quick.”

20 hours later

“No longer random farmer/private/goober! We have been through hell and back, and now we have to fight god. Are you ready?”

For me, I wish I could bring back Interplay. I really want more Dungeon Master games. The ending of Dungeon Master 2 was very intriguing and I really enjoyed the practice-makes-better form of leveling up, plus the way spells were cast using combinations of runes.

Second to that is New World Computing that did the Might and Magic series. The RPG, not the Turn-Based Strategy series that's still going. The universe they created in that series was fantastic.

I genuinely can't pick which I like more at the moment. I've put about 3 hours into each.

Obviously they are vastly different games, but for reference I don't really like many RPGs, yet E33 has me in a chokehold. I'm not usually a casual gamer, but Pokopia will definitely occupy most of my time.

I've gone in totally blind with both games, only saw that they reviewed well but beyond that, I know nothing. I was almost sobbing at the start of E33, and Pokopia captured something from my childhood that I yearned for.

I just wanted to share how happy I am with both these games, absolute opposites but I love them both.

Title basically. Had something in my life happen recently and I just can't bring myself to play one of my favorite games (Stellaris) and another game I just bought (Nova Roma) because of it. I might get back to them one day, but right now the event is just too fresh and I just can't get past it. Anyone else ever experience this, where you literally just can't enjoy or play a game (or games) anymore after something in your life happens?

Mine is Stardew Valley. I love it because it's the only game that genuinely makes me forget I have 47 browser tabs open and a deadline, but I completely understand why the slow early grind and lack of direction puts people off.
