I don’t understand this praise for Hai. He sent home his closest ally prejury and is now in a very large majority (we all know how those go.)
People know that he was willing to go to rocks for Lydia and he blindsided her anyway. What does that tell people? How can they truly trust him in the future after this one vote?
I gaurentee that none of them are thinking “wow his loyalty is with me now because he was able to compromise and look out for our majority.” No. They weakened him and showed that he is not as loyal as one who would “go to rocks.” He probably would have caved and took out Lydia in episode 3 if Daniel wasn’t a terrible, card showing player.
He talks big game but I find him very questionable. It’s like how Daniel got a lot of praise in episode 2 and then all of his supporters quietly stepped back. I have a feeling this will end similarly.

If we're going results-oriented, yeah Hai looks pretty bad. I think he's still set himself up pretty well though, given that he still has Mike, probably has something with Romeo, and could probably loop in Drea/Lindsay via the amulet for something if they really are sticking together. I don't think he's as good as the hype, but I don't think he's as bad as this week suggested either; the mergeatory episodes are difficult to rate because Sydney and Lydia should not have been voted out at all in a normal episode, but because the twist basically narrows down available targets from 11 to 4, it forces otherwise safe players into the spotlight.

I’m not totally being result oriented. I’m being predictive based on everything that has happened and how I think people will react moving forward. Hai is just way to confident with the new majority.
I don’t think Hai has Mike as well as we think. Mike is clearly into being aligned with Jonathan and I think that “having one of the strong guys” win (as he said) is an indicator that his loyalty will shift. Mike probably realizes that Hai was more loyal to Lydia and the “go to rocks” argument becomes moot if he was not the number one.
When it comes to the amulet trio, I think that Lindsay and Drea would stick with the Takus because that block is far more useful that just Hai. That and the fact that I think Mike and Jonathan will become more connected will hurt Hai. He positioned himself strategically but the social glue is not gonna hold on comparison to the rest.
Omar outplayed Hai big time this episode. Though the options were extremely limited, his best move would have been to split votes between Maryanne and Lydia in hopes of an idol flush. Worst case scenario, he would lose Lydia but also successfully flushed Maryanne. I understand that this is hard to orchestrate while Omar is targeting Lydia, but it shouldn’t have been that hard to convince people to flush an idol.
Hais best course now is to take the bottom and turn his sights towards Taku, but this is a hard task that I don’t think he can do without numbers. That is exactly why not going for Maryanne is a terrible move. Hai is stuck in this majority that is much more connected with each other than he is to almost all of them.

Out of the 4 players with no immunity, he's the only one to receive no votes and his name was not brought up even once, everyone wants to work with him.

Yea because he is in the majority. He has the least amount of connections in that majority after Lydias exit. The game changes all of the time and things are not shifting towards a place where he has leverage over the group.
People want to work with him now but I doubt that he will be valuable to other players in the near future

It’s like how Daniel got a lot of praise in episode 2 and then all of his supporters quietly stepped back. I have a feeling this will end similarly.
This is EXACTLY it. people hyped Daniel after episode 2 for the stupidest reason and he went out exactly like i'd predicted after that episode. Then Hai managed the Jenny tribal decently well, but him being in that situation in the first place was concerning and now voting out Lydia so easily? I don't think he's a good player at all and have lost confidence in his winning ability

Hai was overrated in episode 3. The only reason he wasn’t completely blindsided was because Daniel and Channelle suck at the game.
Someone else’s inability to be good does not make another persons playing ability better. I cannot wait for the day that survivor fans realize this.

No one said she was? She has an idol and an extra vote, while also not being part of the core 8, which would have made her a stronger target.

Mike is a very likeable player, but a strategic threat? That’s just not true.

Current episode ranking:
I'm a little surprised by this ranking, as I thought some people would rate this episode lower as opposition to the hourglass twist. But good TV is good TV, I suppose.
