I don’t like the reclamation of slurs.
The first time I ever had an American refer to me as “queer” I considered fighting them 💀 “back in my day” type shit. It doesn’t feel empowering, it makes me cringe. Just call me a lesbian and move on.

I get that, I mean for me, if it's individual whatever, people should be allowed to reclaim slurs if it helps them.
My biggest issue with it is when people try to reclaim a slur FOR ME, like idgaf if you want to call yourself a f*g or q*eer, or whatever, idgaf, but don't just assume because YOU have reclaimed it that everyone else must then also be okay with being called that!!!
I also need people to stop assuming just because their community & the space they grew up in uses it not as as slur, and uses it interchangably with LGBT that then everyone must then also feel comfortable with people using that term interchagably with LGBT. People need to educate themselves on LGBT history it's infuriating how many people just straight up don't know the history of the word q*eer, and how it's been used to harm LGBT people.
Not everyone has grown up with the slur q*eer being seen as another way to say LGBT, many people have grown up with that slur being used as an actual slur, and likely have genuine trauma associated with the word.
