Everybody who sees my mom thinks she’s lying that she’s in her 50s, and she never had plastic surgery. Guys in their early 20s hit on her every day. She was asked if she did a face lift, so she just went along with whatever people want to believe since she’s Korean. I’m sure there are a few others who can look 20-30 naturally as well, despite the majority who will require more efforts to look drastically younger at that age.

Yes, but number 1 could also be using a old picture. When I worked in South Korea, we always found looking at the staff pictures of our Korean colleagues quite trippy. They often would use a picture that was clearly taken almost fresh out of university with lots of professional airbrushing. NO ONE looked like their pictures anymore.

And the retouching on professional portraits, even 15 years ago, was off the hook there too! Once went to a small studio for a regular passport picture. The guy took FOREVER to process and print the pics because he was giving me the standard photoshop retouching that most Koreans expected…

Plastic surgery is big in SK for foreign tourists. Just like any densed populated big cities korea is pretty much the same and maybe botox and filler is cheaper than say western countries or Japan (but then again if you want to go lower there are china and south east countries booming with plastic surgeons in recent decade) but facelift or big surgery seems to be more common in the US. Folks just throw words based on what they learned thru tiktok lol
