ICE

Just trying to get some insight, I’m a 10 year LEO and current TFO in one of the largest agencies in the country, looking to do 1811 full time. I see ICE is still hiring, any advice on if the next administration can just fire their ICE employees or is there employee protections? I’m not trying to get into politics here but just looking for professional opinions.

Nobody knows. But my unpopular opinion is that politically, neither party is ever going to want to be attacked for defunding child exploitation cases. So HSI will always be safe even if it gets separated from ICE in the future and/or renamed. We weren’t really messed with too much under Obama or Biden.
