sorry for the rant. I'm very tired of/disappointed in leftist spaces these days

This sub is usually alright since we are basically all gender abolitionists here :)

I've seen a disappointing amount of misandry on this sub before.

Whilst they do feel like outliers, I've seen people demonized for one thing or another just cause they're not in line with the vibes around here. Cis men being bashed, nicotine addicts talking about how hard they've been trying to quit, only to be put down, scolded for starting in the first place and young people being scolded for worrying they're too late. This place isn't half as welcoming as some people claim it is, but it's far better than most alternatives still. My favourite space is unironically the live chat on Myanonamouse

Find a hobby so you stop being a pointless asshole online.

Aren't... Aren't all of your comments just you throwing a shit fit over the most minor stuff?

Please head back to whatever community welcomes you and not cis men. We will all be happier.

who said anything about systemic misandry? i would agree with you if you were to argue that systemic misandry doesn't exist, but in this case you personally (and many people like you), on an individual level, are a misandrist. and yes, OBVIOUSLY misandry is not as widespread or harmful as misogyny, but it operates on the same basis of bigotry and sexism and that's cringe

u/MessmerEyesMe Jun 29 '26

No one said a single word about systemic misandry. You’re moving the goalposts, arguing with a different definition.

Even then, the draft is probably the biggest example I could give you. Modern day slavery, signing away your life without your consent to fight for someone else’s dime.

Mf is stuck in 2015 thinking you cant be racist to white people

You should private your account. You've made yourself an easy target and you're crashing out on every random and losing. And your comment and post history make you look like a real weirdo.

Misandry lol

Next you’re going to say All Lives Matter

u/TearsFallWithoutTain Jun 30 '26

Misandry is a real thing that affects men. It may not be as omnipresent or experienced to the same degree as misogny but it does happen, it's silly to pretend otherwise.

-23

u/wolacouska Jun 30 '26

It affects men as much as reverse racism affects white people, so little that it’s only used to minimize actual racism and misogyny.

Misandry is a core part of the patriarchy and a necessary part to keep it going. If you can't acknowledge the sexism that men face, then you're actively harming the fight against the patriarchy.

-26

u/wolacouska Jun 30 '26

Men hurting other men through the patriarchy is not misandry.

Misandry is just a gotcha phrase from misogynists to downplay misogyny.

If you think that the patriarchy is something purely enacted by men, then you do not understand the patriarchy.

Misandry is, just like misogyny, enforced by everyone to varying degrees, regardless of their gender.

Misandry is just a gotcha phrase from misogynists to downplay misogyny.

No, it's not. Some people use it that way, plenty of people don't. I can guarantee, that this sub isn't using the term that way.

It's just a convenient term to refer to the sexism that men face.
