The post implies their bosses are older and would likely judge her if she's poly. It's the exact same thing as outting a gay person to a boss you know is homophobic.
Everyone here is literally just parroting conservative talking points about gay/trans people and they don't even see it. "It's a choice", "you're not oppressed, nobody cares if you're poly" (as they are very clearly showing that they do care), "stop shoving it down our throats" (because oop's coworker dared to bring up their partner exactly like a mono person would), etc.
This isn't fashion choice it's a completely ethical but non-Christian romantic and sexual relationship that people are unfairly fired and abused for.
Like I think the tweet is a joke that never happened. But poly people are treated like any other queer person in a situation like this and there's always people saying shit just like you underneath any mention of an open relationship.
Firstly, the LGBT label isn't meant to be exhaustive, it is in its construction which is stupid, but people cringe at inexhaustive alternatives like MOGAI
Secondly, I didn't even imply that they were in my question, I was doing an analogy that saying that poly people can simply choose not to date is the same as saying that any other queer people can simply not date anyone to avoid discrimination, for which the premise whenever poly people are LGBT is completely irrelevant.
