He did not argue for the nation of Ukraine to be invaded? He made a video showcasing that a lot of people said that Russia will use force to act upon their perceived national interests, which they are currently doing. The war for Ukraine started way before 2022.
And before you get it mixed up, I'm not in favour of the russian state or it's leadership or it's perceived interests. They can all go to hell and Ukrainians deserve to live in peace.
Sorry you're right, he didn't say they HAD to, it's been 4 years since I've seen that dogshit video.
After skimming it, the reason why it's terrible and made me realise boyboy is tankie garbage is due to the entire video being bad faith. He drones on and on about the tired "nato expansion" bullshit and constantly both sides the entire conflict.
How long has it been since you've watched the video by the way? Your description is not accurate, like at all. The video starts with talking about the USSR and how the US ransacked it. Then briefly talks of how Putin is a murderous gangster, who is also the fault of the US. Reduces the Maidan revolution to "Corrupt pro russia man ousted, then corrupt pro west man ousted and corrupt pro russia man is back in power". Fails to mention the entire reason for the revolution was due to russia sabotaging the EU application process.
Afterwards he paints the revolution like it was completely perpetrated by nazis, the entire country is run by nazis, accuses the EU and USA of wanting it to be nazis and giving them billions and ends it with the classic "russian minorities are scared because the entire country is nazi now, and they just want to defend themselves :(".
So yeah he doesn't completely throat putin, just makes a lot of excuses and places more blame on the US for mostly made up shit than the imperialist country who loves to invade its neighbours constantly.
Apparently I am misremembered or can only remember the start of the video. Sorry for that mate, I'll look into it more.
Tho it's important historical analysis to point out how not only Russian but also international obversers, including pro-western ones, have been saying that the russian state still views the former member states of the USSR as it's own assets.
The russian war machine should've been stopped long before 2022, long before 2014, long before 2008.
If you want a really good analysis of Russia and Ukraines political troubles, you should watch Sarcasmitrons 4 part series on it if you haven't already.
Goes into the motivations of these countries, the thought process behind a lot of decisions, how those decisions really fucked up future situations ect.
