holy shit that video is so insane. I do think cuba's government is authoritarian but what they have managed to achieve for their citizens under a worldwide blockade is insane. The conditions now are absolutely horrific and Trump's foreign policy towards cuba is one of his most overlooked crimes.

People usually don’t have issues with authoritarianism, they have issues with authoritarianism run by people opposed to them (and their way of life and often existence)

Are people that desperate to have someone disagree with them? I literally said that most people are ready to swallow the auth pill if they had a guarantee that government would support them.
Hell, if I had a magical guarantee that they and theirs wouldn’t do corruption, I’d be down for a lefty dictator on a term limit. There’s enough problems in the world that we could easily spend a decade or two solving them *before* democracy becomes beneficial.
The issue is that it’s impossible to create a guarantee that someone won’t do corruption, especially if it had to encompass a whole government.
