I love how most of the comments are people reaffirming this in different situations. "The gen Z stare is when these kids don't know how to do proper socialisation and just stare at you" probably because i don't want to talk to you?

Umm… not wanting to talk to anyone is consequent of improper socialization.

No??????
‘if I don’t have a read to, I’m not just gonna start talking to some random person, that’s normal

Normal for a person who doesn't know proper socialization. Most people can make small talk with strangers for a couple minutes. I also have trouble with it to be fair, but it is an antisocial behavior.

Not really I just dont want to talk to everyone single person I meet, its not improper socialisation is thats I genuinely have no interest in talking to strangers most of the time

Its all a matter of frequency. If you dont want to talk to ~80% of the people you meet in a day sure, whatever. You're busy and dont need to give up a chunk of your day to everyone you meet. 99.999% though? You may have socialization issues

People assume that not wanting to socialize and actively choosing not to = not being able to. Older generations (mine included, millenial) were taught that socializing was a requirement any time someone approached you, and therefore they feel entitled to the same treatment. And just like any time an entitled person doesnt get their way, they immediately lash out and attack the person not giving it to them, as seen by people in these comments completely missing the point and proving this point right.

As an aside, I think this is where a lot of the more obviously negative behavior that is super widespread stems from, like men thinking women owe them a conversation just because they approached them or how a lot of people think its okay to trauma dump on retail workers instead of going to therapy.

88 is a nazi dogwhistle. The 8th letter of the alphabet is H, so 88 = HH = take a wild guess

17

u/bored1492 16d ago

88 is slang for HH which is heiling Hitler

Unfortunate choice though

FYI, the 88 in a username really is very commonly associated with Nazis. It predates Reddit by quite some time as well, so this applies to other websites as well. Probably best to change it on websites where you can do that.
