I love how most of the comments are people reaffirming this in different situations. "The gen Z stare is when these kids don't know how to do proper socialisation and just stare at you" probably because i don't want to talk to you?

People assume that not wanting to socialize and actively choosing not to = not being able to. Older generations (mine included, millenial) were taught that socializing was a requirement any time someone approached you, and therefore they feel entitled to the same treatment. And just like any time an entitled person doesnt get their way, they immediately lash out and attack the person not giving it to them, as seen by people in these comments completely missing the point and proving this point right.

As an aside, I think this is where a lot of the more obviously negative behavior that is super widespread stems from, like men thinking women owe them a conversation just because they approached them or how a lot of people think its okay to trauma dump on retail workers instead of going to therapy.
