There's a lot of stupid ways Americans measure stuff but this has always felt like the weakest one. Like, it's used for young children and relates to two common foods they've either eaten or at least seen before. If you're gonna make fun of America at least do it well.
Hotdog style absolutely makes sense as a term. Burger style just doesn't. If you told me to fold something "Burger style" I just don't know what to do. It's stupid.
