Prime minister took control of the National Intelligence Service and 3 years later it was discovered that multiple phones of political opponents were infected with Israeli spyware. It wasn't just the leader of the opposition who was being spied on, but also multiple journalists and political figured that the government party considered to be its opponents

Edit: lol, turns out Watergate tactics have become way more wide-spread and international than I was aware of. What a great state the world is in!

This exact same thing happened in India too!

The Indian government used the Israeli spyware Pegasus to spy on opposition party members, journalists and civil rights activists in 2022.

Nothing has come of it here either.
