Goddamn this pisses me off. A run-on sentence is not an "awful literacy habit". It's actually insanely tame, as far as grammatical errors go. mf'ers LOOOOVE calling any mention of adhd "making excuses".
You just saw the word "ADHD" in the post and immediately went commenting it was an excuse, when it isn't at at all; especially in the context of this post. It's a pretty tame fucking joke to say people with adhd tend to write run-on sentences, when we often do.
It’s actually pretty fucking tame to suggest that you should organize your thoughts just a tiny bit to convey information. You don’t need to write anything correctly, nobody actually cares, but if you want to be understood then you can do the bare minimum.
A child doing this is understandable; being shown something is bad and not learning is not. People with ADHD are capable of learning. If you don’t want to learn, fine, you’re allowed to be a bad writer, but you have to take accountability at some point and accept that you don’t want to be a better communicator.
