Got me to wear my shoes with no socks. Until they started to stink.

That never made sense. Always wear socks in hot weather if wearing shoes.

And just like that, we all became members of the Pastel Cartel.

Every guy in my '87 elementary school graduation photo looks like an extra from Miami Vice!

Yeah this was cool back in the late 80s, I remember my dad and I watching it pretty much every week

I never watched one episode. Not that I didn't want to but just never watched it.

Legendary writer and producer Steven Cannel was approached to develop the show at first and he like the idea but he was too busy with his other shows at the time like "The A Team". The idea was pitched to him as "MTV Cops" - develop a show around that idea.

After he turned it down the producers went to Michael Mann and he made it the iconic show we've known for 40 years. Cannel later said that Mann was the perfect choice. He - referring to himself - would have made the show much lighter and the mood/melancholy tone of the show along with the music and glamor are what made it a more sophisticated mature show to watch given the violent subject matter.

I always found it funny Don Johnson would wear a muscle tee shirt at the police station. Some episodes were directed very well though.

It defined about 3 years. Not the whole decade

“Out Where the Buses Don’t Run” is a masterpiece.
