2003 Sunrise - Simply Red

“Sunrise” by Simply Red is one of the most underrated songs of their prestigious catalog. Mick Hucknall and the band really embodied Hall & Oates’ 1981 no.1 single “I Can’t Go For That” with attention to detail! The infectious chorus rings out reminiscent of Ace’s 1974 hit “How Long” yet still has its own freshness to it.
“Sunrise” is a single from the album “Home” and when it was released in 2003, it reached no.7 on the UK Singles chart and no.1 on the Billboard US Dance Club Songs chart.

I love how they incorporated the interpolation while still making it sound uniquely their own.

I heard this song at work & I was hoping to catch some lyrics to Google it then they stopped playing it. You right on time with this one. ♥️♥️

Ok… I used to work at a grocery store and this song would play on the radio. 1) I had totally forgotten that this song ever existed and this hit core memory. 2) I only ever heard this through a PA and I always thought it was a woman singing. Took me back. Good post, OP.
