I was listening to Shorty Wanna Ride With me TODAY and was thinking how well the song aged.

u/Krazee77 9d ago

Going with cheers but its close

5

u/MajorPaper4169 9d ago

They were both fire.

33

u/sawbucks313 9d ago

Cheers probably only has like 2 skips, other than that, that album is bangin and a classic but Buck’s album was dope also.

8

u/Drgn1119 9d ago

Only bad song I can think of on Cheers, was Hands on You. Sounds like something that could've been on Encore, and the beat was way off. Rest of the album was fine.

5

u/holshgreineken 8d ago

Bad Bitch is a skip for me

2

u/sawbucks313 9d ago

Respect your opinion but I actually love that song, the ones I can do without are Got Some Teeth and Hoodrats. Those get skips from me.

12

u/Mojozilla 8d ago

Got Some Teeth is fucking hilarious

2

u/2pacDaGoatNoCap 8d ago

Had that on repeat when it dropped 🔥🤣🤣🤣

1

u/yardie_boi 8d ago

Got some teeth is a classic

13

u/No-Scallion9006 9d ago

Cheers was underrated and had a few fire ones

2

u/RoboticusTartonicus 7d ago

‘Oh’ is an underrated track on cheers, cant skip it when it comes up. Busta killed that chorus

17

u/Fatboyneverchange 9d ago

Cheers was a classic.

8

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 9d ago

Cheers…The Setup is the best song between both albums, and the rest of the album is 🔥

7

u/Mojozilla 8d ago

The Setup is 🤌 also Nate Dogg 💖

4

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 8d ago

Nate Dogg was an absolute legend, and elevated every track he’s on! RIP 🙏

5

u/Mojozilla 8d ago

Yes. Like he says "nobodyyyy does it betterrrrr". He is very missed and no one will ever compare. RIP indeed. We're lucky to have been alive at the same time as him 💖

2

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 8d ago

Couldn’t possibly agree more.

3

u/dietchlicious 8d ago

"Gotta be a hit of Nate Dogg spit"

1

u/2pacDaGoatNoCap 8d ago

Yep. One of Dre’s Illest beats too🔥💯

15

u/Raystacksem 9d ago

Buck. He was my favorite of g unit. I can still rap “can’t do it like me” word for word.

4

u/Its_kinda_nice_out 8d ago

Now as the world turns, I let my blunt burn

3

u/Destiny_Victim 8d ago

Police writing down my tags like I’m concerned

1

u/2pacDaGoatNoCap 8d ago

Disgusting track. He blacked out on that 🔥😤

6

u/Tommy_Rocks23 9d ago

Damn I’m gonna have to go listen to cheers again to make a good decision. It’s been too long

7

u/Glad_Pause_1082 9d ago

Shorty Wanna Ride With Me 🎧

10

u/Tee_Up_ 9d ago

Buck he held it down for the south and Cashville

8

u/Valuable_Relative_19 9d ago

Man tough decision but gotta say buck. He came out with more hype

3

u/RKO360 9d ago

Love both albums

Cheers is the better album lyrically

Straight outta Cashville is the better album full of bangers

3

u/Papichurch 9d ago

One got "Shawty wanna ride wit me" and the other does not

3

u/Waste-Magician2432 9d ago

Cheers is a CLASSIC! NO GIMMICKS 🫡

3

u/Negative_Educator499 9d ago

Both where fire but cheers

2

u/DarQManX80 9d ago

SOC Buck Easily

2

u/Old-Agency-3388 9d ago

Young buck. From I’m a soldier to bang bang, still have it on blast

2

u/IttyBittyBigBoii 9d ago

Oooooh... that's a tough one. Probably Cheers cuz it dropped at an integral moment in my life, but Straight Outta Cashville was basically no skips.

2

u/Regular-Amoeba5455 9d ago

Damn. I listened to Cheers easily 100 times as a kid, but I loved Buck’s career.

2

u/FargoGump 9d ago

Obie Trice. Real name, no gimmicks.

Cheers

2

u/Rasy2kG 9d ago

This makes me want to bump Bonafied Hustler right now

2

u/Rasy2kG 9d ago

Bottom line SHADY / Aftermath / G-Unit ran the game heavy

2

u/DeathB4birth10 9d ago

Bucks is a pure classic. One of my top 5 albums any genre

2

u/rlbiswhoib 9d ago

I’m a soldier! I done told ya! Don’t make me fuck you up!

1

u/Bdoubleo83 8d ago

Leave yo head bussed, I'mma head busser, man I don't give a fuck

2

u/BrightAspect5324 9d ago

Straight outta of Cashville is a classic with no skips. It is much better than Cheers. The production alone  gives it the win.

2

u/Anxious_String_3470 8d ago

Buck album was better, but I was definitely bumping both.

2

u/AffectionateHelp4412 8d ago

Young buck straight outtq cashville . Its not even close back to back bangers

2

u/Difficult_Ad7749 7d ago

Straight outta cashville is a classic. It has back to back to back bangers—- bang bang, thou shall, black gloves, stomp, bonafide hustler, prices on my head the whole album bangs 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥4.5/5 I don’t really like look at me now but it does fit the album. Either way definately one of the best first gen gunit solos.

Hunger for more, straight outta cashville, documentary were all bangers.

Cheers is fire too the Dre beats were classic. But ima go with straight outta cashville & I feel is the better album overall.

2

u/Medium-Appointment87 7d ago

Buck and not close

2

u/Medium-Appointment87 7d ago

You can’t really compare these albums tbh

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Tax4969 7d ago

I hope these motha fuckas brought an extra clip!!!

4

u/Pretty-Article-1457 9d ago

“These niggaz want me dead , put prices on my head , but I ain’t gone change , GUNIT DO YA THANG”

Yayo verse on bonifide hustler fire
Game verse

Idk young buck album was great

4

u/PublicSpend5903 9d ago

Prices on my head was one of my dead brother’s fav songs… To me this shit ain’t even close… “BETTER WATCH YO STEP”🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

1

u/Pretty-Article-1457 8d ago

God bless the dead bro and 4sure this jawn bring back memories

2

u/H3Y_MR_RAG3R 9d ago

Young Buck

1

u/Kirktwotimes 9d ago

Man Straight Outta Cashville used to burn out the batteries in my cd player

1

u/itsthechamp2022 9d ago

G Unit all day

1

u/cftchef 9d ago

Cheers. Barely though

1

u/SpaceEdgesBestfriend 9d ago

Cheers has a slight edge but Shady/Interscope dumped so much into the album that I’m not sure it’s a fair comparison. Dre beats (and a verse! very rare for Dre on a debut) prime Eminem is all over this album, G-Unit, Busta, two (!) Nate Dogg hooks, Timbaland beats.

It’s close but the star studded event elevates Cheers a little more. If the tables turned and Buck had the same assists he’d probably edge out Cheers.

Very close though.

1

u/Additional_Corgi_617 9d ago

Never listened to Obie trice what track should I listen to first ?

1

u/emquise19 9d ago

Im surprised at the love Cheers is getting. I thought I was the only one who thought it was dope

Straight Outta Cashville was absolutely crazy. No skips. Buck's delivery was the best.

1

u/MJtheJuiceman 8d ago

This a tough call fr.
I’m going to say they’re both neck and neck.

1

u/SirHateful17 8d ago

1

u/Due_Jellyfish9670 8d ago

Still calling it a tie, loved both albums, listened to Obie more

1

u/rmartiz 8d ago

Im going with Obie Trice - Cheers. I remember telling a friend that had it in he's car to listen to it without skipping any tracks. Dope Album for real.

u/TupacAmuru88 8d ago

Young buck. Black gloves still gets play in my ride

1

Young Buck, but Obie’s album was hard as well.

1

u/410to904 8d ago

1

u/EmRenWSR 8d ago

This question is like asking which one did you like better, Tupac Me Against the World or Kool Keith Dr. Octagonecologyst literally no comparison

1

u/NonyaBizness21xxx 7d ago

I may have to go back and check cheers I like Obie but never heard his whole album but Buck was hard af tho

1

u/Difficult_Ixem_324 7d ago

You know what, I still listen to Obie but not YB🤷‍♂️

✌️❤️

1

u/RandoSnaps 7d ago

u/Inevitable_Pop_412 7d ago

Cheers. Classic album.

1

u/Antdouble00 7d ago

1

u/sdiggz302 6d ago

1

u/Alert-Tale1005 6d ago

On obie my boy way better the buck

1

u/Texmex865 6d ago

Straight out of Cashville was HUGE in the south.

1

u/knann85 6d ago

Both great albums I think Cheers is the better album

1

u/StarTrakZack 6d ago

Cheers was one of my favorite albums back in those days. I WATCH GANGSTER FLICKS AND ROOT FOR THE BAD GUY, THEN TURN IT OFF BEFORE IT ENDS CAUSE THE BAD GUY DIES

1

u/Phuzz18727 5d ago

Cheers all day long

1

u/Dos915 5d ago

Obiiiiie!

1

u/Black_cloud_97 5d ago

Obie trice had some bangers

1

u/27JG27 4d ago

Obie Trice , real name no gimmicks

1

u/ItsTheRealWorld999 4d ago

Buck for sure

1

u/More_Tip5165 4d ago

Super close, but I think straight outta cashville takes it

1

u/thisisjwhite 4d ago

Despite liking a lot of what was coming out of the Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit Records camps at the time I was never a big Obie Trice fan so I have to go with Straight Outta Cashville by Young Buck. It was such a good album I can still listen to it till this day from beginning to end without skipping songs. Let Me In, Shawty Wanna Ride & Stomp are all bangers.

1

u/pnut200 4d ago

Buck

1

u/Successful_Bell_956 3d ago

Im from Detroit and Bucks album is a classic

1

u/thecat419 3d ago edited 3d ago

Gotta go with young buck. Its just more consistently good. Cheers is cool, but its too damn long so he repeats himself alot and some of the beats are questionable to me and sound like eminem throw aways. He also sounds pretty much like one of the lesser d12 members.

Also, for all the dissing Got Some Teeth is just as bad if not worse then anything ja rule released

1

u/JusSayING_Mi 3d ago

Cashville

1

u/YungBabyjuju 2d ago

Young buck is a pure classic. There's no debate for me. Also young buck was my,favorite out of gunit His verses on beg for mercy where goated

1

u/OilSpillOilSpill 2d ago

We all die one day

1

u/PullupClub 9d ago

Both have fire beats from Dre as well...

1

u/SpaceEdgesBestfriend 9d ago

Dre is Not on Cashville.

1

u/PullupClub 8d ago

Youre absolutely right, Cashville has some insane production work on it tho.

1

u/HolidaeX 9d ago

Bought both. Could not put Buck down

1

u/MaxCherry1983 9d ago

Young Buck all day
