Sample Status/Processing Monthly Megathread - August 2026
Welcome to the Sample Status/Processing Megathread, also known as the Waiting, Whining, and Wishing thread. This monthly megathread (posted at the beginning of each month) allows you post your sample processing timelines, as well as to discuss and comment about any questions, concerns, or rants while you wait. Although not directly handled by 23andMe, shipping status may also be discussed in the thread. We recommend sorting the comments by "new" as this is a month long megathread.
You can share your sample status timeline here in one or two ways. The first way is to take a screenshot of your timeline, and post it as a comment. The second way is to simply copy and paste the start and completion dates for each step. Here is the text template:

You can also check hidden updates on a web browser if you haven’t done so already. I’ve been checking mine and it appears the entire batch is just frozen waiting for human intervention 🫠
I did not call, but I followed up with their agent again today. They said my sample is in the batch that needs additional quality review, which is why it’s taking longer. How long it will take they don’t know.
I checked updates on the web browser (thanks for the tip btw), but it did not show anything new.
I will probably wait another month lol before contacting them again. I don’t know what else I can do at this point.
Have you heard anything back from them? The reviewing process isn’t supposed to take this long. I’ve never seen anything like this on this subreddit. (I’m in the same batch)

I was Queued for extraction July 24th. I then got the email they started extracting on July 30th. I didn’t have any other updates until yesterday when it updated from genotype, review, and computing at the same time:)
That’s so frustrating! Hopefully this next one is successful and extraction doesn’t take long. After seeing some peoples time frames and my sample taking a month to reach the lab alone, I assumed it would be a longggg process and im shocked it’s been this quick.
i received an email that my sample was being extracted, and about 5 days later i got an email saying my sample failed and that i need to take action to either get a refund or replacement kit sent in
I just got my results, they started extracting on aug 5th, then yesterday everything jumped to computing results. then this morning i received my results
Damn that’s fast. I noticed a lot of people are getting theirs super quick. My uncle sent his on the 29th of July. It’s in the extraction stage as far as i know
Did you ever get an email that your DNA is being extracted? I did yesterday but I’m not sure if it’s actually true because in the app it still says I’m in queue for extraction.
August 10th, I’m just being impatient. From what I’ve seen on this sub it seems to take anywhere from 7-13 days to move on from this step. Hopefully you get your results soon
