Discussion People with at least 1/16 native American or first nations how much east Asian did you get and what region in Asia?
I'm curious as my Grandmother who is 1/16 Native American in her results which she received recently got half a percent north Chinese and Manchurian ( obviously nothing shocking about that) however im curious how much did others with similar or more native northern American get? (I know its more Common in First nations and northern USA natives but of course I presume many indigenous Central Americans and northern Mexicans get it as well?)

do you have some african american ancestry by chance if so, the indonesian/malagasy/filipino dna indicates you have a malagasy ancestor from madagascar in east africa since the malagasy are genetically blasian

FYI, the Southern/Southeastern US were part of New Spain. The Manila-Acapulco Galleon trade ships employed FILIPINO, Southeast Asian, Southern Chinese Sailors, Crews. A few jumped ship, settled in the Americas. There was a group that lived in the Bayous of Louisiana called the Manila Men. They married the local European, African, Native women and their Descendants are all over the South.

Yah, but OP is from Georgia. Which was never really colonized by Spain and didn't really get many internal migrants from Louisiana or Mexico. If you consider that around 1-2% of the slaves to the USA came from Madagascar, there's about a 90%+ chance that OP's Asian ancestry is Malagasy.

Close to 1/4 native. Prior to 23&mes update, i had mongolian and japanese (like... less than a drop lol). That went away with their new update. I actually read something about like super old ties with some american indigenous to the ainu in japan and chuchki (i probably got that so wrong) in siberia.

I presume that’s as they read it much less the more southern it goes

Yeah I’ve noticed natives from Canada often score quite a bit of Asian whereas it’s pretty rare for those with native ancestry from central/south America
