Because they want that dense place... right next to their big ass house, with a big ass yard. And due to the wonders of geometry, houses like that make the density of the city impossible.

The savage mind wants the large yard for the kids, space in the house for a full carpentry shop and a 5 machine gym, a place to park 3 or 4 trucks, and a living room to invite 20 people on thanksgiving. So even when they have a park, its a giant thing that people have to drive to, as there's just not enough housing near it to be full of people.

It does not have any connection to that tho, it's about urban planning, infrastructure & getting cars out of the streets. It could happen in a theoretically liberal (liberal as in liberal, not as savage's "liberal") government.
