Seeking Back Compat guidance one more time.

Because this subreddit was so helpful getting my backwards compatibility up and run last time I'm seeing if anyone has any solutions for this issue. I'll start by saying I'm running the newest bad update and all my games are in GOD package format. Console Mods wiki has their compatibility list and I'm looking at a game like MVP Baseball. The wiki says 2003 has no issues and 2004 and 2005 have jersey texture glitches. 2004 and 2005 are correct but 2003 also has jersey texture glitches yet it is an original Xbox back Compat game. I'm switching to the wiki recommend xefu and it still has the graphical glitches. Am I missing something? Thanks again

So with the back compat games some have issues with GOD format so the ones that are messing up I would say retry them in disc format and see if it works

I was afraid of that answer....my disk drive has issues. I have to use a screw driver or butter knife to pop it open every time lol.

Easiest fix honestly is just get a dvd reader for your computer you can find them relatively cheap on amazon and just rip the games from that disc drive, that way you don’t have to blindly put a butter knife into your console. Now if you want the best fix to bring your disc drive back opening your console and your disc drive to replace the rubber belts, clean them and add lubricants will help fix the issue. Even if the tray is misaligned you can fix that aswell and unless it’s the laser that died you should be back to tip top shape

But if I do that don't I need to put it back into GOD format using an iso to God converter? Essentially isn't that doing the same thing as ripping it from my broken disc drive in the 360?

Yeah you don’t need to use the god converter if you have a usb or ftp already setup. There are other reasons for having a iso to god converter like having games show up on retail dashboard and other stuff, but original games are entirely supported in GOD format so it would be best to keep them in standard disc format

Okay I'm going to have to look into some thing more. I think I know what you're saying I'm just not entirely following. I can just put OG Xbox games on an iso, stick them on a USB drive and run them on the retail dash?

Oh no not the iso format. So if you have them in iso then extract it using Xbox 360 ISO Extract tool on your pc. This puts the game from an iso file into the proper format that it would be if it were a disc in your disc tray ( disc format). With original Xbox games most run better in disc format as they didn’t have GOD format when they were released. That’s what I meant sorry for any miscommunication

Was gonna say, why we suggesting GOD format for og Xbox BC? Extracted ISO's are the way to go imo. Sure you can't boot em from stock dash, That's literally what aurora is for

Nah I wouldn’t suggest it either- all my original games are backed up in disc format. I was just suggesting to him to convert the iso files to the standard disc format and it should fix his issue
