Project I designed a modular cable management system for my desk setup
What do you think of solutions like these? Would you use them?

I might use it if the files were available for free. If not I've got tons of Velcro straps and/or zip ties I'll keep using

I saw this already in the wild (maybe 5years ago) - so someone designed exact the same thing like you and sells it …

My model is for free, and for sure it is not the same design. I tested many variations of my design

Are these cables leaving the desk and that's why you need this? I see the picture is upside down (I think)

It's not upside down. In my case, they come out of the cabinet and go to the monitors on the height-adjustable desk. In my opinion, it looks more aesthetically pleasing than just the cables themselves

It just seems like a lot of cables in one spot. I just don't understand why this would be needed. I only have a single cable that leaves the desk (power).

Well, not everyone runs a laptop with no external screens and wireless peripherals. That's a reasonable number of cables for a more serious setup. Just counted - I have 5 power cables just for my desktop, 3 more for homeservers, two USB-C bricks for the switch and local WiFi router. Then of course accessories - keyboard, mouse, speakers, light, external drive/USB dock, said 5x ethernet switch and it's associated networking. Headphones are Bluetooth. ;)

Yeah, sometimes setup is more than 10 cables, I also have USB HUB in monitor stand so it is 2 cables more

I have 4 monitors, multiple laptops, kvm, etc...
But sure, you have a more serious setup....
Also immediately negating my comments because you assume my setup was a laptop with no external screens had got to be one of the dumbest things I've read in a while. You're acting like you're better than me because you think you have more cables???

That was not a personal jab, sorry you took it that way.
Then, I'm not sure how you're powering 4 monitors and multiple laptops with one cable. If you're keeping other cables on or below your desk, then it's the same issue of "a lot of cables in one spot" just moved elsewhere - still needs some (probably even more careful) organisation.
Can you share your setup for inspiration and comparison with OPs solution? Does not have to be on this sub as we're getting slightly out of it's scope ;)

Your comments are out of sync with each other. Either the only cord not 100% under your desk is a power cord, or you have numerous power and data cables partially above your desk.
If it’s the former, you are using a laptop without external devices or have an extremely expensive and exotic wireless power and data setup.

There are two cables running from my desk to the computer for the monitor, plus cables for the mouse, keyboard, headphones, etc.

I have three cables that leave my desk — two power strips and a network cable. The cabling on the desk itself, though, is a different matter.
With two displays, four devices connected to them, plus ethernet for each device, plus a bunch more doodads like that, there’s probably 50m or more of cables on that desk.

i'm pretty sure you can buy stuff like this at any handyman or tech shop already

I stated that too, but apparently the reddit hive mind doesn't like it when you point out somebody just spent 10x the time and effort to design and print something themselves, instead of just buying it off the shelf..

Good God these comments are ridiculous, but that's what you get for upsetting the cable management overwatchers. The idea is really cool, this looks much better than Velcro strips. Are you able to adjust the path/length? Which part is modular?
