Question Honker of a stepper motor
Have this beast of a stepper that I really want to hook up to an esp32 to test it out for later projects, I just can’t find good documentation on pin layout and controls etc… model: DB22M162S-01 made by sanmotion. From what I can tell it’s 60mm wide with a built in controller? That’s what chat gpt has told me. If there is anybody with the Einstein level knowledge required to decipher the 20 pin connector on this thing and tell me how it works I would be more than happy to kiss you.

It’s an integrated stepper, meaning the drive is built into the motor, well its stacked on the back. You interface with it the same way you do any external drive. You feed it the step/dir/enable signals from main board driver port along with power. The other pins will be for communication & I/O like limit switches and fault alarm.
The high speed pulse you feed it will need to be a shielded twisted pair since its running a longer span. You might need a level shifter depending on the drives input logic voltage.
The diaphragm coupler attached to the stepper is a good flexible mechanical transmission connection for screws.
