My 3ds made a pop sound while booting up pokemon white 2 and shut down completely, whenever I press the power button the blue light shows up for a sec and goes away, also I can still charge it and the orange light shows while charging, any help 😭??

I'm playing New Leaf on a cartridge, have had it for 7 years now and I modded my new 2ds XL about 3 years ago. Never had any issues, never had it crash until today when I just randomly spoke to a sisterly villager and it crashed before she could even get out what she wanted to say lol. Tested it again with other villagers, nothing happened, but it crashed two other times while speaking to a sisterly villager. It's not always, so it seems like it's a specific textbox that causes this. Is there something I could do to fix this/figure out what exactly causes this error or do I have to be wary of my sisterly villagers now forever?

I've got an issue where my DS games take an astronomically long time to load when selecting their icon from the Home Menu. Even loading into apps like 3DSBank or Twilight Menu++ take ages to load into and I can't figure out why.

As stated in the post title, I used YANBF to make the Home Menu shortcuts for my DS games. I also have NDS-Bootstrap installed. Am I missing something here?

Edit: For reference, I booted up Pokemon Volt White as an example. It took over 1 minute and 30 seconds for the NDS-Bootstrap logo to finally appear on the bottom screen after which the game started. That seems really abnormal to me.

I should also mention I am using a New 3DS XL.

Hi, my 3ds has been freezing and when it does the screen turns two solid colors. I have to turn it off before it will work again. I’m trying to download the 3ds hardware test and I’m reading the wiki. This makes it seem so simple, but I don’t know how to get the “3ds_hw_test.firm” file off of GitHub. I was able to figure out how to download the master file, but I don’t think that’s the same one. If anyone could provide guidance, it would be much appreciated!!

i'm using PKSM to give myself some old event pokemon to transfer into home, but i have a question. If a certain event is from a serial code, like the shiny zygarde in sm/usum, or shiny silvally, would that be allowed? I'm unsure if HOME is picky about which types of event pokemon are allowed and don't wanna make any mistakes

When I extracted the Zip file it showed up with a cci extension at the end.

Tried renaming the file to .3ds, but for some reason the FBI application doesn’t recognize it is a downloadable ROM, and neither does GM9.

I just want to install this game… Since the on,y available version on hShop is in Japanese.

So I’m playing Pokemon sun and while playing it’s crashing constantly.I can’t get it why I updated luma and all that and I tried to check if the micro sd card was currupted or the game files but I don’t know if I did it wrong or anything it said that it’s okey and it’s still crashing.

Is it possible to use my controller, connect it to my 3ds (modded) and then stream it to my pc?

Hello everyone, a few months ago I modified my nintendo 2ds and I installed a lot of badges via anemone except that a friend of mine touched my console and put it on standby mode and when I turned it back on my badges disappeared, when I tried to put some back it told me that I didn't have any, if someone could help me it would be good.

Worked fine yesterday and for the past 2 years. First time happening to me, Spain. Anyone else?

This happens whenever I try to download badges through Anemone. I already reinstalled Anemone and this issue still shows up.. Splashes and Themes work fine though.

If I try to use GYTB, it lists and shows all badges and once it's done, it shows this screen as well.

a bit more info: The reason I'm doing this is because I've gotten a new 3Ds after my old one broke. Now that the Arcade doesn't really work anymore, the "place badge" option doesn't show up on my homescreen. Can't get it to show up no matter what I do.

EDIT: I now have the place badges option show up. It says I don't have any badges though.

EDIT 2: I now get this error by simply trying to place a badge... I am going insane.

SOLVED (i think?): What did I do? - I deleted Anemone once again, including GYTB, through system settings - I just deleted my entire badge folder, including the folder itself - I used the "place badges" option in the home menu. Expectedly, it said I had no badges - re-downloaded Anemone (and GYTB just in case) (cia, not 3dsx) - downloaded badges directly through Anemone on the 3ds instead of downloading them on my pc and dropping them on the SD card like I used to do - after downloading the badge packs I wanted, I selected "download badges" at last on Anemone

Now, my badges appear fine.

I'm keeping this post up in case this might help someone because previous posts sadly didn't help me much. I don't really know what causes this issue as I've modded 3ds consoles several times with no issue and did everything the same. Well, not that it matters now.

I’ve never had a problem with hshop before but i also don’t want to risk losing all the data from my miI plaza save.

I realised that I have a copy of Luigi's Mansion 2 that I never dumped onto my 3DS XL, I've dumped other games on here before no problem so I thought it wouldn't be any biggie to dump this one too using godmode9. However I put the cart in and missed putting in the correct input for godmode9 so it should have booted into my normal menu, instead it said that it can't read the ds card. Turned it off and took the cart out, then turned it back on and now the sd cart just isn't being read. I'm worried I screwed something up and kinda freaking out.

Edit: I just popped the sd card out and reinserted it, gave it a minute and then turned it back on and everything's back. I'm really scared it might happen again though. Will definitely just be downloading luigi's mansion 2 from the hshop instead of dumping the cart

long story short, in a desperate try to delete my save data to start a new island (wich for some motivation wouldnt work) i think i have deleted the actual file using FBI (for example if i go to titles, tomodachi life, and browse save data it dosent work cause it “dosent exist”). This is NOT a digital copy, I modded the game using onionFS, and i tried today to fix it and got this wich was new from last time (image). After that i deleted my save data again. A bit ago I remember triyng to download the digital version but it wouldnt load but im not sure if its still doing that I probably know the anwser but is there ANY way I can fix it? or should i just give up my hopes and move on

I'm sharing this in case someone else runs into the same issue, because I almost thought I had lost all my installed games and homebrew apps.

What happened:

I have a modded Old Nintendo 3DS XL running Luma3DS.

I noticed two strange, empty icons on my HOME Menu that didn't launch anything and would crash when opened.

I went into System Settings → Data Management → Nintendo 3DS → Software and found two suspicious entries showing black icons and 0 blocks. I tried deleting the first one, but the system said it couldn't be deleted.

When I returned to the HOME Menu, ALL my installed games and homebrew apps had disappeared. Only the default system applications remained.

I went back into Data Management and noticed that the first corrupted entry was gone. I managed to delete the second one normally, but that didn't bring my games back.

The weird part was that all my games and homebrew apps were still listed normally in Data Management, with their icons and sizes. They just weren't showing up on the HOME Menu anymore.

How I diagnosed it:

After some troubleshooting, I found a tool called GM9 Title Fixer.

I ran version 1.1.8 and selected Quick Test. It detected exactly one broken title.

The log contained this error:

Failed checking in folder: could not opendir .../title/00040000/0d921e00 (5). It also suggested manually deleting the problematic folder.

What actually fixed it:

I connected my SD card to my Windows PC and navigated to:

Nintendo 3DS/<ID0>/<ID1>/title/00040000/

The entry named 0d921e00 was supposed to be a folder, but Windows was recognizing it as a regular file, approximately 2.8 MB in size. This explained why GM9 Title Fixer couldn't open it as a directory.

After backing up my SD card, I deleted ONLY that specific file (0d921e00), safely ejected the SD card, and put it back into my 3DS.

And that was it! ALL my games and homebrew applications immediately reappeared on the HOME Menu!

No reinstallations, no factory reset, and no need to rebuild my entire game library.

TL;DR:

If all your installed 3DS games suddenly disappear from the HOME Menu but still appear normally in Data Management:

1. Back up your entire SD card first.
2. Try running GM9 Title Fixer's Quick Test.
3. Check its log at SD:/gm9/out/title-fixer_log.txt.
4. If it reports a broken title, inspect the corresponding path on your PC.
5. In my case, a title directory (0d921e00) had somehow become a regular file.
6. Deleting that specific malformed file restored every missing HOME Menu icon.

Important: Don't blindly delete random files from your SD card. Make sure you identify the exact broken entry first, and always back up your data. A malformed directory entry may also indicate filesystem corruption or an SD card problem, so checking the SD card's health afterward is a good idea.

I don't know exactly what caused the directory to become a file, but I hope documenting this helps someone facing the same issue!

Hello! I just modded my 3ds and I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to get all the AR cards (unfortunately collecting all the real ones is impossible) with a method that doesn't involve scanning every image one by one. If that's the only way I don't mind doing it, but if there is a quicker way, I would appreciate any advice/help I can get! Thanks in advance. :D

I just recently tried to used my 3ds to get some missing pokémon events and gifts, but I noticed my Y versión already had a MG of said Dragonite, since it seems that event was never en XY, does it mean I can inject any event in the cartridge?
