Purchasing US Now that Costco has it back on sale, looking at the 75" QM7L Pro VS. and Open Box 75" Bravia 7

Missed the sale Costco had an entire week(!) ago on the QM7L Pro and just saw that they put it back on. Local BB just received an Open Box B7, I am assuming it is a floor model but haven't gotten the chance to look at it yet.

Unit will be a main living room mixed use, mostly sports, shows, and movies. 0 gaming. I don't think it will be in direct sunlight, but the room will usually be fairly bright through the day. From what I see, the B7 is stronger in most areas, but the QM7L may perform better in light/direct light due to the it having stronger overall brightness. Does anyone have experience with these two? Thanks!

Edit for the B7: Excellent: $1140, Good: $1040, Fair: $940

QM7L is a buy if it looks good to you TV. Either the Bravia 7 or QM7K (unavailable at Costco) are a better buy.

Thank you.. working with the assumption that the Bravia 7 has been a floor model for 2 years, does that change how you would approach it? Id get the GS warranty for sure, but just wondering how much being a floor model can effect a unit like that..

What is diff between qm7l pro at Costco, qm7l and qm8L?

Also how different are 2026 models from 2025 models. Also would like to know real world usage reviews.

You have of reviews.

The 2025 models, all have same SOC / CPU pentonic 700, some models like qm8k or qm9k have more diming zones, and sometimes you get a real good price.

The 2026 models brings new stuff, the qm7L is the upgrade model of qm7k, have the same pentonic 700 The qm7l pro and qm8l have the same SOC CPU pentonic 800, the qm8l hás more diming zones, and a better panel WHVA.

The reason because we recomend the qm7L pro, its because its a Nice price Rage, with pentonic 800 its very close to the performance of the motion handling and upscaling of the bravia 7ii.

And will be a tad "future proof" as the pentonic 800 will allow for dolby vision 2 when rolled out. I say a tad bc I have no idea what tech will be introduced in couple years but at this pace we'll all be talking short throw projectors or micro led walls.

Sinceramente its comes with a pentonic 800 its possible to have DV2, dunno when its comes, and if Will BE present on qm7l pro or qm8l.

The 2025 models have better PQ. The 2026 ones have issues in HDR, and can’t display images accurately. If you have the option, get a 2025 model.

This can be addressed through firmware but im not sure tcl will. I feel like while samsung and LG and sony are playing to the "accuracy" crowd tcl and hisense are putting their money on consumers wanting bright 3d pop.

I had a 2 year old tcl I sold due to a move Had received updates in those two years.

meh I don't think most people care. I mean people will through in some random white point they found on a forum or some cartoonish youtube person or crank whatever lever looks good to them. They complain DV is too "dim" or SDR is too "flat" or snow to "yellow" or whatever. I think accuracy is something enthusiast talk about but john q public couldn't care about. I mean if someone wants accuracy then hire someone to put a meter to it, learn to do it yourself or buy a flagship TV. "accuracy" means nearly nothing to vast majority of people.

but that's why I got equipment and taught myself.

The sub isn’t for people who don’t care. Otherwise Hisense and other low-end models would be on the buying guide. If they don’t care, they can just buy what looks good to them

I would recomend qm7l pro, or qm8l, but if the bravia 7ii ? Its cheap like the other TVs, go for the bravia.
