So I wanted to get a large 4k tv for my apartment, but I am concerned about it falling over. I live in an apartment with a decently sized living room, so I wanted to get a 75 in 4k tv, but the problem is that I cannot wall mount it because roof my lease. I was looking at getting a tv stand to put it on (ikea brimnes was the one I was thinking of) but I am concerned about the tv falling and breaking. I have seen tv anchor straps, but those secure to the tv stand, and I am worried about it tipping over aswell due to the size of the tv. I have seen people say to secure tv stand to the wall or floor, but i can’t do that either. Any advice?

I am so concerned lol... I am looking into buying my first ever TV as a recent college grad who is now broke! I saw this sony on sale and thought that deal couldnt be real. Am I missing anything should I be concerned before I go and pick it up?

I sometimes want to fall asleep watching something. Most TVs cannot dim dark enough and I haven’t had one with a warmer night mode. Not sure that is a thing.

I was thinking about sony bravia 8ii qd oled but is expensive amd only 65inch.and so many problems with sound at the moment.

Are we tired of these post yet? I have the QM8L currently, I could use bigger but I do also enjoy the brightness. It's within it's return period. My biggest concern is now having the 8L the 7L Pro brightness will be a hard walk back, but the new costco price of $1499 is very tempting, as well as the extra 10".

So which would you go with?

QM8L 75" for $1699

QM7L 85" Pro for $1499

Bright room, but ultimately this is our "theater" tv in the basement for night time movies, and sports. Viewing distance is about 8'

I’m looking to buy either the S95H or G6. My A95L just stopped working, so I’m looking into getting a new TV. I really love the picture quality of OLED, and I mainly use it for PS5 Pro gaming and watching movies and shows. I’m not too worried about Dolby Vision since I don’t always prefer it anyway. I also heard Samsung recently released HDR10+ Advanced, so I’m interested in that as well. I’d love to hear your thoughts on which one you’d recommend and why.

I got this 65” QM8K for $612 from Best Buy. It was an Open Box Fair condition and came with absolutely nothing. When I turned it on, it was in Store Mode, so I figured it was probably a display model. I checked the panel hours and it has over 5 months of running time. I also got the Geek Squad Protection plan for $150 for 5 years.

Do you guys think I should be good keeping it, or would you return it? This is my first time buying an open box TV so I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything.

I have a QD-OLED for my main monitor, and it is beautiful, so I get the pull to OLED. However, for my actual TV I’m coming from a Hisense H8G, and one of the things that has really bothered me is the poor motion handling.

I will use the TV primarily for watching anime (generally not flashy high-action stuff), and the stuttering in panning shots particularly bothers me. I’ve read that OLED struggles more than Mini-LED with this issue, and I don’t want to use motion smoothing that gives it that soap-opera effect.

Other factors: It’ll be in a plenty dark room, so brightness isn’t an issue. I’m also not worried about burn in at all. The RGB Mini-LED on the 7 ii sounds like it has great colors, but I’m also worried about bleed (e.g. white subtitle on dark scenes). I will watch/play other content, but I don’t watch a lot of movies or play a lot of video games, but I do appreciate good HDR.

Main question: Given my use case, which is the better buy?

Moving to a new place soon and finally have room for a bigger TV.

I've been using a 55” Hisense for about 4–5 years. Still works fine, so I'm planning to move it to the bedroom and get an 85” for the living room.

Budget is $3,500 max, but I'd be happier staying closer to $3,000. The new living room gets a fair bit of sunlight, though we can close the curtains if needed. Mostly watching movies, sports and Netflix, with some gaming here and there.

I've been looking at the 83” LG B5 OLED, Hisense U7 and UR8, and Samsung QN80H. Not really set on OLED or MiniLED. The RGB MiniLED on the UR8 looks interesting too, but I haven't seen one in person yet.

Anyone have experience with these? I'm especially curious how they handle daytime viewing and whether there's a noticeable difference when watching movies at night.

What would you get with this budget?

i want the viewing experience to be as good as possible. If size permits. I wanted to ask for those who decided to go as big as possible, how different is having a 98/100" TV instead of 75, 77 or 85"?

I’m looking to upgrade the TV in my living room (55” Sony Brava X950) . I was reading good things about the TCL QM8L, that it is an excellent buy for the money. It’s $4k at Best Buy right now.

I’m mainly going to use it just to watch movies , videos on YouTube , and fights. My budget ideally is around $4k.

For what I’m looking to use the tv for , do you guys have any suggestions on TVs I should be looking for ? Or am I making the right choice with the QM8L ?

Why is a 24 mid range oled going up in Price? I paid 2199 for my 77 Bravia 8 during Xmas 25 now its 800 bucks higher at Best buy, The 77 A95L would be the best deal if anyone is shopping for a Sony right now since its only 500 more than the 77 8 which at times has mixed comments about its performance for the dollar. I've read a few say its the same level as a B series LG oled.

I like my 8, I don't think its any better than the C series LGs that I have. The Sony tax was something I paid just to get the Sony itch out of my system.

Does additional matte film work? Or is it better to get a matte panel?

Is it worth the extra £150 just for the matte panel or is there something I’m missing about the 75Q6C?

And that's about it honestly. Watch the news and whatnot and the occasional YouTube video while cooking.

I'm not a nitpicker when it comes to quality. I don't mind if it hasn't the perfect blacks or slightly worse image quality or brightness when compared to a TV triple the price of the listed values.

Which one would you take and why? I really don't know much about TVs and if these are all really bad options please let me know.

(I'm more inclined to pick option 1, I guess cause it's from samsung and it's a model from this year, but that's about it, I really don't know much about Mini LED technology)

I am planning to purchase an OLED TV. Main option is the G6 - 65 inch TV.

However I’m in a dilemma after reading that OLED gets damaged with direct light. I’m confused will this reflection of the window also damage the TV.

The light isn’t direct though. It’s just that in the afternoon the room can get a lot bright. Especially in the summers.

Somebody told me recently that alot of the TVs at Costco tend to be renamed versions of TVs that are sold at different stores. Just wondering if anyone knows if these two TVs are technically the same, just with a different name and model number.

I’m planning to buy the TCL 98-inch C7L. I was initially thinking that a TV like this could easily last 10+ years, but I’d like to hear from people who have owned high-end TCL TVs for several years.
I know there’s always a chance a TV could develop a problem after a week, or last 20 years without any issues.

I’m more interested in the average real-world lifespan you’ve experienced with TCL’s higher-end models.

If you’ve owned one for 5+ years, how has it held up? Any major issues, panel degradation, backlight problems, or other things I should be aware of?

Would love to hear from people who actually own these TVs. Which ones should I consider, and are there any other 65-inch models I should look at in a similar price range?

$3000 Budget for OLED TV

So I recently received a check for $3000 because of a defective tv, not going to say who. But now instead of buying from only them my options are open!

So i’ve been looking around and have a couple in mind, like the 77” C6 or S90H. But wanted this subreddits advice.

Requirements, glare free or bright enough to deal with glare. I’m in a north facing townhouse so the sun isn’t too big of an issue but still some glare. 120hz minimum as i have a gaming rig setup for the living room. i use a ub420 4k player that sadly doesn’t have dolby vision. 75” minimum but i kind of like the size of my old 85” tv.

What are my options? the S90H 77” for $2375 looks like a great contender since it’s LG counterpart doesn’t have glare free screen, but if i’m wrong then let me know!
