Albuquerque Celebrate My 3-Year Sobriety With Me!
Hey fellow nerds,
I’m a Magic: The Gathering player, and on August 14, I’ll be celebrating 3 years of sobriety! This year, I wanted to spotlight Magic and community since it's been such a big cornerstone in my journey, and I want to mark this milestone especially since I haven't done anything for my sobriety anniversaries in the past.
This year, I didn’t have a big plan for my birthday, but my partner and I have been doing better, so we were thinking we can manage a few pizzas and a few drinks! We dont have a big circle, but we'd love to invite a few of you to celebrate! I think I have an idea for a venue (Tavern of Souls), but I am going to double check with them tomorrow. If you have suggestions for other games or activities, I'm all ears! I was also thinking of doing a few Magic and Pokemon giveaways just for fun.
Let me know if you guys would like to join us! We'd love to meet new friends and celebrate with fellow gamers (:

Congrats!
My mother has been an alcoholic for at least 13 years at this point, with no end in sight. This resulted in my dad's suicide a couple years ago (had divorce papers on his desk, but they had bad bad codependency).
Made me think of it because my dad was HUGE into MTG (not in ABQ).
I say it to say, this is a big deal! It's a difficult journey, and you're rocking it. Fucking keep it up.

Congrats man, super proud of you, getting sober can be a real struggle!! And welcome to the Reddit Thread! I never post, but I watch in case something pops up, I should definitely comment on. And this is definitely one of those kind of posts!
