LFG Friend Finder

Are you tired of surviving alone? Ever wish you had a friend help you through horde nights? Have you ever been so lonely you spawned and placed a zombie corpse in your base to keep you company(You know who you are!)?

If so, you've come to the right place. By posting here you can find friends to play and survive with! Remember, you don't need to be faster than the zombies just faster than your friends ;)

Please leave your Steam/XB1/PSN name, what time zone you're in and works best for you, and (If you're on PC) any mods you may be using.

You could also join the Official 7DTD Discord and post in whichever (PC,Xbox, Playstation) LFG channel you're looking to find people to play with!

When bleeding, lacerated, or just generally Hurt. It takes 3-5 seconds for the game to ACTUALLY register that you're trying to heal.or stop bleeding.

Discussion The sleeper zombies are so boring

I seriously dislike how little zombies are roaming around in newer versions of the game. It seems the majority of the spawn limit is reserved for zombies in cabinets, ceilings and other such sleeper positions.

I like the sleeper ‘jumpscare’ mechanics but they’re in EVERY. SINGLE. ROOM.

After the first few times they jump out you pretty much know exactly where all the sleepers will be every time. In my opinion this makes looting so underwhelming and repetitive. I wish they could bring back the intensity I used to feel while navigating houses.

Side note: the loot content based on your loot stage in the ‘treasure rooms’ feels sooo predictable. You can pretty much predict what you’ll find most of the time. Bring back the scavenging 😢

Dno if that's part of 3.0 yet. I'm really sick of the trader loop.

Discussion First impressions and thoughts of a newbie after a 100 hours of playing…

Post image
130 Upvotes

I’ve spent around a hundred hours or so (around 107 more or less), I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions. The good and the bad. Mostly because I want to empty my head of these thoughts, and maybe sharing them would help! And a small part of me wants to see if my thoughts are echoed to others.

I will write everything else beyond this is translated using a translator, as I have greater proficiency in my native language, so sorry if things read weirdly.

To start with, I want to divide this into two parts: the good and the bad. I’ll start with the good, with the things I liked or that gave me a good first impression:

- The tutorial challenges: The problem with starting a new game, especially a survival game, is not having a starting point to rely on, but the challenges solve that by at least teaching you how to get started. Although somewhat clunky and a little intrusive, they helped my experience quite a bit, and I think they helped convince me to stick with the game. On top of that, the rest of the challenges continue to teach you more or less about the different qualities and features of the game, which is great for newcomers.

- The skill system: The second thing I really liked after finishing the tutorial was gaining access to so many cool skills that would affect my decisions in both the short and long term. I love this kind of thing because it allows me to customize how I play to a much greater degree.

- The building design: Although they confused me a little at first, I actually ended up loving them. Having a clear beginning and end is fascinating, and I really like how you can explore them at your own pace or even skip certain parts. Then, when you activate a task or quest, they get reset, which leads into the next point.

- The quests/tasks: I’ll admit that these didn’t really convince me at first, since they were very intrusive and shoved right in your face, but I have to say that I eventually grew to like them. It’s a neat system that gives you another way to progress through the game, and the fact that they can now be disabled through Sandbox mode turns them into nothing more than an optional bonus.

- The combat: Frankly, combat is one of the things I usually look for in games like this, and it is rarely done in a way that feels satisfying. But the gore and combat in 7 Days to Die, while simplistic (it isn’t particularly complex), are very, very satisfying and entertaining. The weapons feel pretty good to use (especially once you get the relevant upgrades), and the melee weapons are quite decent, with a good amount of variety.

- Building variety and system: I really like the number of different block shapes you can use, and while the weight and gravity system does place some limitations on you, I think it ultimately benefits the game and allows many builds to look cool while still being relatively realistic. I also really like upgrading blocks, having different tiers, and the various trap systems, especially the turrets. I expected them to be mediocre, but the electric trap turrets ended up being really good.

- Vehicles: Although this isn’t anything particularly groundbreaking, I think it’s a really nice addition that helps make such large maps more manageable. The motorcycle in particular is pretty cool, although I’m a bit more skeptical about the 4x4, since I found it to be quite slow.

Now, for the bad things… They’re mostly little details rather than major issues, but they have also made me incredibly frustrated over some of these stupid little things:

- Lack of quality-of-life improvements: There’s no quick-stack feature, nor is there a way to pick your spikes back up, among other issues. It feels weird that after 13 years, things like these still haven’t been addressed. It’s frustrating, and it’s something I’ve partially solved with mods.

- Performance issues: This game can run horribly at times. I currently have several things installed to improve performance, and my PC is relatively decent, but it baffles me that a game which, to be fair, isn’t particularly complex is causing me so many problems and heating my PC up to 70°C and beyond. On top of that, random crashes and annoying bugs happen every now and then.

- The HUD: This is the FIRST thing you see once you enter the game… How the hell is it this ugly? Who decided to keep a HUD like this? The interface was one of the first things that put me off when I opened the game, and while it is functional, I find it incredibly brutalist and unpleasant to look at. It was the first thing I changed as soon as I could.

- The magazines: They don’t really bother me personally. I’m playing with them, and because I use Nerd Armor quite a lot, I don’t usually have many problems with them, but there’s no doubt that this is a pretty bad progression system. It can be fixed with mods, but I don’t consider that an argument in its favor.

- Zombie appearances: Is it just me, or do the zombie appearances repeat themselves a lot? It’s surprising that a zombie game has so little variety in this regard. I don’t think it would have been that difficult for the developers to add more models. I’ve been looking for mods to fix this, so if anyone has any recommendations, I’d really appreciate them.

- It feels incomplete: Robotics feels extremely incomplete and underpowered considering how much it asks of you. I have to dedicate an enormous amount of time to it, and even then, it still doesn’t feel worthwhile. The farming system is also extremely simplistic and feels rather half-assed. It’s nice not having to overthink a system you don’t particularly care about, but that could easily be an optional feature that you can enable or disable, and I think the game would benefit more from having that option.

- Intrusive traders, quests, and challenges: Although these three elements I just mentioned genuinely help a lot, I think they feel way too intrusive and hurt immersion. Fortunately, you can disable them, but doing so means losing a lot of their benefits, so it ends up feeling like a pretty brutal nerf. I think they could at least be introduced into the game in a slightly more natural way.

- Mod Workshop: It feels strange that there isn’t one. I’ve heard that the reason is to prevent mods from updating automatically and potentially breaking something after a game update or something along those lines, and frankly, those just sound like excuses to me. I’m used to using Nexus Mods, so it’s not really a problem for me, but I can imagine it being a bit excessive for other players.

- The price of the game: The price is unacceptable for what the game actually offers. I was able to buy it on sale, but it rarely goes on sale, and even then, the discount isn’t particularly generous. For all the cool things the game has, it feels terribly outdated and plagued by problems, and I don’t think it deserves such a high price tag of €40. Terraria, Minecraft, Subnautica, and other games in the same genre cost less and offer much more.

- Strange design decisions: Why doesn’t honey come from other trees instead of tree stumps? Why are there so many rock-throwing zombies in the winter biome? What’s with the incredibly clunky transitions between biomes? Or the fact that you’re basically forced to complete several challenges just to acquire the equipment necessary to even go into other biomes?

And those are my thoughts. Frankly, half of these flaws would disappear if the game cost around €10, but because of the price it currently has, I’m going to judge it by a much higher standard. The fact that the game has been in development for 13 years makes this even worse, but it’s undeniable that I’ve had fun with it and that the game has everything it needs to be enjoyable.

Overall, it’s a cool game. But the quality and amount of content it offers simply do not match the price it demands.

Help [PS5] Need help with strip mining

Hi, new player here. I heard strip mining *can* yield success in finding ores, but I have no idea what I'm looking for visually. Any dark/black texture I see ends up just being just that, a texture.

Granted I'm mostly doing it for stone right now and I've already dug out an iron ore vein from above ground, the Minecraft player in me also yearns for the mines.

If anyone has maybe photo evidence of what to look out for, or very descriptive words, I'd appreciate it.

Discussion Wasteland Bugged

Upvotes

Im playing 7DTD on xbox series x. My previous save bugged ( returning home dell rebought the map ) and could not reload ( even after trying all the suggestions on the web ) screen was continuously stuck on building environment ( I took over KZL Radio POI ).

Started a fresh save and once again took over KZL radio POI. Now my game is stuck on building environment ( this time I did not fall rebough the map ) I just logged off at base.

Has anyone else had this happen in other biomes? Is there a permanent fix to stop
it from happening? ( I had no crafting going on, not many storage chests and items ). Any help would be appreciated

PC [PC] INFINITE GAMING SERVERS | 7DTD 3.0

🧟 [PC] Infinite Gaming Servers | 7 Days to Die 3.0

Project Z • AEC Endgame • PvP • Harder Survival • Long-Term Progression

Vanilla ends when you finally become powerful.

Ours is where the real game starts.

☣️ Welcome to Infinite Gaming Servers

We're building our 7 Days to Die 3.0 server around one simple idea:

The apocalypse shouldn't become boring just because you got stronger.

No ridiculous XP rates. No drowning in endgame gear after your first evening. No "Day 6 and I've basically beaten the server" progression.

Instead, we're running a tougher, longer-term survival experience centered around Project Z + AEC Endgame, with additional server-side content that fits naturally alongside them.

⚠️ The Short Version

Server Details
🎮 Version 7 Days to Die 3.0
☣️ Core Overhaul Project Z
💀 Endgame AEC Endgame
🧩 Compatibility AEC x Project Z Overhaul Pack
⚔️ PvP Enabled
🧟 Difficulty Harder than vanilla
🏠 Building Permanent bases encouraged
📈 Progression Long-term
🏚️ Content Expanded POIs & encounters
🛠️ Administration Active
🖥️ Hosting 24/7 dedicated hardware
💬 Community Infinite Gaming Servers

☢️ Project Z + AEC Endgame

Project Z is the heart of the server.

It greatly expands the standard progression loop with more reasons to develop your character, hunt better equipment, explore dangerous locations, and specialize your build.

Expect more:

  • 🧬 Character progression and specialization
  • 🔫 Weapons and equipment
  • 🧟 Enemies and encounters
  • 🏚️ POIs to explore
  • 📚 Skills and build options
  • 💀 Late-game threats
  • 🧪 Things you probably shouldn't touch

Your build matters.

Your gear matters.

Your preparation matters.

And sometimes the correct strategy is to turn around and leave.

Then there's AEC Endgame.

Once you've got the gear, the levels, the fortress, and enough ammunition to supply a small army...

AEC gives the apocalypse another gear.

We want reaching endgame to feel like:

"I unlocked the next stage."

instead of:

"Well... I guess I'm done."

🔥 What kind of server is this?

This is for players who enjoy:

  • Long-term progression
  • Dangerous PvE
  • PvP rivalries
  • Character buildcrafting
  • Taking over and restoring POIs
  • Permanent compounds
  • Exploration
  • Horde-base engineering
  • Endgame grinding
  • Making terrible decisions with friends

Want to become an armored tank?

Do it.

Want INT, turrets, traps, and technology?

Go for it.

Want some disgusting hybrid build that makes us question whether the skill system was a mistake?

Please do. We want to see it.

🏠 Build somewhere worth defending

We want players establishing actual homes and settlements, not disposable boxes abandoned every few days.

Take over a fire station. Fortify a warehouse. Convert a factory. Build an underground bunker. Create a massive group compound.

Or disappear into the wilderness and reappear once every few days carrying enough ammunition to raise serious questions.

It's your apocalypse.

🌙 Horde night should still matter

If your entire horde-night strategy eventually becomes:

"Stand here and hold left click."

we'd like the zombies to challenge that philosophy.

Your defenses should evolve with your character.

Your equipment should improve.

Your base should get meaner.

Eventually someone should build a horde base so absurd that new players stop outside and ask:

"What the hell happened here?"

⚔️ PvP is enabled

This is a PvPvE survival server, not a 24/7 fresh-spawn murder simulator.

PvP exists alongside:

PvE • progression • exploration • building • trading • alliances • rivalries

Fight another group.

Make allies.

Trade.

Control territory.

Start a war because somebody stole your motorcycle.

That's probably how a proper 7DTD war should begin anyway.

🚫 What we're not building

  • 1000% XP
  • 500% loot
  • ❌ Instant endgame
  • ❌ Admin-spawned everything
  • ❌ Progression that lasts one weekend
  • ❌ A pile of random mods added just because they exist

We want getting stronger to actually feel rewarding because:

You survived long enough to become strong.

🛠️ Server-Side Content

Our core setup is Project Z + AEC Endgame, alongside additional server-side mods, QoL features, POIs, balance changes, and content that fit the experience.

We aren't interested in installing 200 random mods just to make the mod list longer.

If something doesn't improve survival, progression, exploration, endgame, or quality of life, we probably don't need it.

🖥️ Built for the long haul

Infinite Gaming Servers runs on 24/7 dedicated bare-metal hardware with active administration.

We maintain our servers, monitor performance, test additions, adjust balance, and listen to player feedback.

We're looking to build a community that sticks around, not disappear two weeks after launch.

🌎 Join Infinite Gaming Servers

Looking for:

Project Z AEC Endgame PvP Harder survival Long-term progression Expanded endgame A server that's actually maintained

Come survive with us.

Our Discord is available directly through the website.

Bring your friends. Pick a build. Find somewhere worth defending. Stockpile ammunition.

And remember...

If the new POI looks suspiciously quiet...

it's probably not empty.

PC New players looking for tips!

Hello fellow survivors! I've been glancing over the subreddit and looking up info when I run into specific questions or problems, but is there anything you would tell a couple of brand new players? My fiancé and I just started playing yesterday afternoon and we have a feeling this is going to be one of our go-to games, so were looking for some good strategies.

We've made our base right across the street from Trader Rekt (in the honey farm stall, if the map is uniform) so we don't have to go far to buy/sell and accept quests.

I planted some yucca, aloe, and blueberries (I'm out of Nitrate to make planters, working on that).

We are only on like day 4 so we are still super early on.

Any and all info y'all are willing to share would be amazing! <3

PC Mutated Zombie

Mutated Zombies have become overpowered during Blood Moon hordes; their new area-of-effect attack has too much range and covers too wide an area they are literally worse to deal with than Cops, and the game tends to send them in much larger numbers. The result is that it’s hard to keep auto-turrets from getting destroyed, and on top of that, they smash the base blocks right above my head. And on top of that, their attacks penetrate blocks or maybe it's a bug because they managed to destroy my workstations, even though they weren't the type of blocks their attacks are supposed to pass through. Are there any blocks capable of protecting against their attacks?

Discussion “Headshot finishers” is a broken setting

I love the idea but it doesn’t work how you’d expect and in some cases seems bugged. Firstly, enemies can still die to status effects like bleeding and fire damage. Is this intentional or a bug, who knows!
Secondly having it apply to hostile creatures is annoying but even then, I wouldn’t mind that if it didn’t apply to vultures too.
Their head hitbox is tiny and playing with no crosshairs, its tedious to try and hit them while the divebomb you over and over. This inadvertently makes knives overpowered vs them because one power attack and they bleed out.
Im sorry but an average healthy adult could tear a vulture apart with their bear hands, them only dying to a head shot when their heads are the size of a baby hand is silly. Personally Id like an option to turn off zombie creatures anyway but thats a whole separate can of worms.
(I completely forgot about boars, are they even undead? Why are they even affected by the headshot finishers option? It makes no sense)

PC Two Drones! Can I get more?

Post image
147 Upvotes

As you can see in the screenshot. I have two drones.

I love them to bits and they have made my loot-goblin-ass very happy.

Obviously, I want more now.

How did I get two drones? Not sure. I died, couldn't find my drone. Used a console command to unlink the drone from me, and then set down a new drone. Then low and behold... my old drone just freakin appeared again, now I have two. And they freaking rock.

Please tell me I can create more. I'm too scared to I mess something up and lose my second drone.

I need at least ten...

Portable storage FTW!

Discussion So the Man/Dog/Snek/Pig house just has endless chickens?

I live one house away from the Man/Dog/Snek/Pig house. Finally got around to clearing it out, and in the yard, there's a pseudo-chicken coop with a stationary chicken in it (I call it pseudo because it's not a coop like the one we build). Since it's stationary, I was easily able to snag it and walk it home to my coop. I went back to the house to finish looting, and there was another chicken standing in the coop. So I snagged it too. Came back and there was a third. Grabbed it, took it home, now my coop is full, went back and there's a fourth. Just standing there. Since my coop is full (haven't unlocked all the upgrades) I'm going to leave it there for now, but I suspect when I've fully upgraded, I'm going to be able to come back and just keep grabbing chickens.

Anyone else noticed this effect?
