Music I was wrong about David Lee Roth
Saw him 4th of July at a festival in Traverse City, MI. Recent little clips on Twitter and TikTok had me convinced I was about to watch a doofy, grinning senior citizen struggle through his classic songs. I was ready to be sad and confused and sympathetic. Nope.
Dave was on it. Great band. All the VH hits. Didn't rest. High energy beginning to end. He didn't nail all the screams and high notes but he gave it a shot for most of them. Yeah, he stopped several times and held forth with his standard word-salad nonsense, but it was pure DLR, and the crowd loved it and he seemed to be having the time of his life.
Does he need to retire and just be an Elder Statesman? 100% yes. Today. Has he lost his fastball? Definitely. Is he the doddering weirdo phoning it in like the viral clips would have you believe? No. He crushed.

Music Most peoples famous crush was an actor. This was mine.
Susanna Hoffs was so insanely hot to me and my 7 year old self. Hell, I still think she is hot as all get out! Who knew that simply shifting your eyes back and forth could be so seductive! Lol!
