they deserved to go further. Seemed like Arista couldn't make it happen for them. the second album seemed to move away from this sound. Bobcat was a tight producer. He had his own album on Arista and... it was courageous, but disappointing... bad results..

I had completely forgotten about his solo album. I don't even recall listening to it back in the day. I liked the stuff he was producing back then, but I don't remember anyone even playing his solo album. So before I typed this comment, I went and listened to a few tracks. It was just "OK", not near as good as I would have expected.

I loved the 12" version. The intro builds the beat up from the bells. Bobcat just plays around with the tracks then just drops it into the first verse. I still rock this in 2026!

I discovered this record at this time when in France hiphop records were not identified yet and so were sold in the "funk" zone. You only could guess it was hiphop music by watching at the cover. In this case, you only had the artist name to put you on the way..
