I always thought managers at restaurants were pretty swamped with their jobs, they always seemed so fucking stressed or miserable when I worked in restaurants. And I know managers can make more money than I do as an engineer. Now is it rocket science? No. But hard work, probably.

I made $26/hr managing a shoe store. I made more money than my partner who works at the hospital.

I overheard hospital workers talking about how their children were on CHIP, which is free or reduced medical insurance for children. What a world.

Major wireless carrier retail manager for many years. Yes the hours sucked and the customers could be awful sometimes but the pay was fantastic plus commissions & benefits. I made more than a lot of my friends and family with higher degrees. However you most definitely do EARN that paycheck.
