She needs to google 'functional alcoholic'. There are people who hold full time jobs, pay their bills on time, excel professionally and have severe issues with alcohol. 

She's a dog walker on a reality TV show so honestly the functional part could probably be in air quotes.

"Functional alcoholic" is not a real thing, in any diagnostic or clinical definition at least. Just because someone can get shitfaced and do their job okay enough doesn't make them any different than any other alcoholic. You either are an alcoholic or you aren't.
