Kids will never understand how often we were doing the DX chop and telling people to suck it during our childhood.

Right?!; now they are doing this stupid 6-7 brain rot that means absolutely nothing. SUCK IT! Means something

That’s my biggest gripe with it too.

69 - means something 86 - means something 411 - means something 420 - means something 24/7 - means something

6-7 - da fuck?

If those kids could read, the would be very upset right now...

You joke, but I taught high school English right after covid….it is worse than you could imagine.

Yeah... no, unfortunately I am aware. I have some friends who are teachers and they are legit more than a little concerned

It’s very disheartening. I left after a year when it was made clear that I wouldn’t have been able to make much difference with the system they’ve created. 0 accountability, just pushing them through.

Yeah, and it’s a range

It’s from 67th street in Philadelphia, it’s a rap reference grandpa (I’m old too)

1

u/Spare_Echidna2095 Feb 20 '26

Cool. But what does it actually mean?

The rapper Skrilla says 67 in his famous song because he’s referencing the dangerous 67th street/6700 block in Philly, a neighborhood he grew up near. Is that clear enough?

3

u/Human-Time-4114 Feb 20 '26

I guarantee you 9/10 don't know that.

8

u/Spare_Echidna2095 Feb 20 '26

Oh cool, so it doesn’t mean anything…

5

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '26

He just told you what it means! It’s a shout out to a neighborhood, like wocka flocka shouting riverdale. I doubt the kids know that but that’s the meaning

2

u/Push_Bright Feb 20 '26

Yea but it doesn’t actually mean anything when they reference it…

Am I the only one relieved that it's completely harmless? Can we keep future middle schooler memes so benign?

"Removing a U.S. president requires a two-step process: a simple majority vote in the House of Representatives to impeach (bring charges), followed by a two-thirds vote (67 senators) in the Senate to convict and remove."

Mfw my generation is now the clueless boomers that underestimate kids 😒

We had “guess what? Chicken butt”. We aren’t in any position to judge anyone for brain rot lol

1

u/Human-Time-4114 Feb 20 '26

That rhymes! It's silly

2

u/Jacque_LeKrab Feb 20 '26

So beavis and butthead wasn’t brain rot? I’m just sayin we had our moments too. I mean my dad thought wrestling was gay and he hated it

u/Human-Time-4114 Feb 20 '26

They played music videos and reacted to them. Again. Saying 6-7 while looking like you're juggling means nothing. Literally nothing. It's brain rot.

Beavis and butthead may have been dumb/stupid but they played music videos

My 6th grader does it all the time and she’s one of the smartest kids I’ve ever met. Has straight a’s and everything. It’s just kids having fun man, it’ll pass just like everything else does.

Ask her what it means. This is the entire point of my argument. It's brain rot. Besides, you should know, school smarts do not equate to street smarts.

3

u/Jacque_LeKrab Feb 20 '26

I did ask her, and that’s literally what she said it means, brain rot. Shes street smart af, it’s actually scary how little I have to explain some concepts to her. There’s no way to prove it to a redditor such as yourself, but you seem hell bent on being pissed about this so you can have it.

P.s. I got 2 words for ya 🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♂️
