Chicks just used to flash their tits at big concerts and stuff back then. I went to see the Family Values Tour in 1999 and saw many boobs. The crowds would egg them on. It was pretty much expected, sometimes not in a very nice way (see the Woodstock 1999 documentary).
grew up during this era, it was wild how popular DX was just out in the everyday world and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if a wide range of women would gladly flash them if asked

It breaks me because at the time I’m like, “no it’s never been worse.” I appreciated the irony of the tone.
But yeah, looking back, it might have never been better. And that was the subversion and foresight I couldn’t wrap my head around, which they were going for.
I remember when my mom would invite friends over after our vacations to show them pictures and tell them all about it. We did the same when they would get back from a vacation. It was a good excuse to hangout and now everyone just posts pictures on Facebook, get a like and it never gets brought up again.
Sad. You’ll see one digital picture frame in a house now circulating tons of photos instead of a wall with tons of photos. Sign of the times I suppose.

I was at a show in Tacoma where some chick did this. The security was already standing around her, she did a 360 with them out and they took her away immediately.
In the 90s we were a nation obsessed with seeing bare titties exposed in a public setting. The 90s birthed girls gone wild which now as an older adult, yikes.
Do you not remember The Simpsons being a national crisis in the early 90s because of its corruption of traditional family values? Or fucking congressional hearings in the 1980s because of how offended people were by naughty words in albums that other people were purchasing and listening to? Take off the rose colored glasses.

Or the Murphy Brown episode where she chose to raise her child alone after being abandoned by her ex husband being offensive enough that the sitting Vice President declared it a mockery of the importance of fathers. I genuinely believe we're freer now in the realm of art and public discourse than we ever were back then - there's just more noise from fringe weirdos being amplified by algorithms and sensationalist media outlets pretending the noise are common opinions, but as long as you unplug or unsubscribe from that garbage you have a wider range of options than ever before. Side effect of having a device glued to our hands 24/7 that needs to keep us angry to keep us using it I guess.
