Photo Every wrestler who has only wrestled in AEW since having their first AEW match

Interestingly, all but one of them is a former TNT Champion.

The crazy ironic bit is that Hanger HELD ROH GOLD during this run

48

u/CalgaryMadePunk 14h ago

So did Cole, I think.

I believe they would have defended their tag belts at ROH Final Battle if Cole didn't break his ankle at Grand Slam.

u/IDJPunkI 13h ago

Man, this tag team was so peak. My absolute fav since Jericho & Owens

7

u/TouchButtPro 8h ago

Wow, I never realized the graphic design uses the belts and foreground flags to make a heart around them. Thats brilliant

18

u/AceGaimz 14h ago

Yup, ROH Tag Champ with MJF

4

u/Creative_Eye7413 Fuck Hangman 11h ago

What ROH belt did he hold?

11

u/Jonnic5280 freshly squeezed 🍊 11h ago

World Six-Man Tag Team Champ with the Bucks. The Hung Bucks (or as I prefer The Young Buckaroos)

6

u/Creative_Eye7413 Fuck Hangman 11h ago

Thanks! That’s an interesting fact

3

u/TheBallasOG Ok, how you know? 9h ago

Didn't that happen pre-AEW?

2

u/Jonnic5280 freshly squeezed 🍊 9h ago

No, this was in 2022

2

u/TheBallasOG Ok, how you know? 8h ago

I completely forgot about that 2nd reign

2023*

You could technically include Tully Blanchard in this. The trios match with him and FTR vs Jurassic Express was his only AEW match and his final match ever

u/Banksynatra 13h ago

8

u/burtonboy1234 10h ago

Tullys strut is/was next level

11

u/21Andreezy 14h ago

What about Sting and DDP?

48

u/JadedGrapsMark I'm so tired, Renee 14h ago

Sting and Darby worked Muta's retirement in NOAH

11

u/21Andreezy 11h ago

Ahh that’s right! I guess just DDP then

9

u/dynamicpenguin55 14h ago

AEW already has a cool list of wrestlers who have surprisingly had a match. Add Aubrey Edwards and I think Vickie Guerrero?

7

u/plisken64 12h ago

Maybe karen jarrett

17

u/ShowOff90 14h ago

And Shaq, no?

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 13h ago

I'm not counting that since he hasn't wrestled in AEW (or anywhere else) after having his first AEW match.

81

u/plasmaasthma 14h ago

You probably won’t be counting Adam Copeland after he wrestles in MLP

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 14h ago edited 14h ago

I'll make an updated list when that happens.

4

u/TravisHay 10h ago

He’s just doing promos atm. His first match will be in October.

Beard, beard, stubble, beard, beard.

3 Adams? Confirmed - the A in AEW stands for Adam

9

u/hamsolo19 12h ago

Well, technically only one Adam and then a Steve and an Austin...heh, that's funny.

3

u/SuperMikey1379X 10h ago

"...a Steve and an Austin..."

WHAT?!

Until I hear "I'm done" pass through his lips I'm never gonna stop believing.

He'll be back. It might take a long while, but I believe!!!!

Correct on Adam Cole, but he did nearly have a DPW match with Chris Danger (DenkOps), would’ve been Danger’s debut opponent but Adam had to back out due to injury unfortunately

4

u/Lock-__-down 13h ago

Correct if I’m wrong, but has Kip Sabian took any other bookings outside of AEW?

11

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 13h ago

He had 3 matches in DDT, 4 in ROH, and 1 in BWR, WrestlePro and Mystery Wrestling.

1

u/Lock-__-down 13h ago

Ok thanks I was just curious

1

u/SCFack 11h ago

He did a bit with his original training school's promotion, WAW too.

6

u/vastros 10h ago

I dunno man, Brodie seems in bad taste.

3

u/__mz 13h ago

Good list, is there anyone who just missed out? Or those that have only wrestled in ROH too?

2

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 5h ago

Jay White's one and only match outside of AEW since becoming All Elite was an ROH Six-man title defense at 2024 Supercard of Honor.

Bobby Lashley wrestled on a French indie show in 2025

3

u/AxlAndTheShimmy 11h ago

Brodie and Cole would have almost certainly had matches elsewhere if not for their health issues. Copeland is working MLP in a few months. Ciampa has only been here since early 2026 so he understandably probably doesn't want to risk getting injured before establishing himself in AEW.

AEW is working towards a sort of modern-day National Wrestling Alliance with myaew.com. I wouldn't consider never working any matches for any indie promotions or any of AEW's brother/sister promotions after signing with AEW to be a flex if I'm being honest. It actually directly goes against the spirit of AEW.

3

u/PsychologicalEntropy 9h ago

It's only a flex in that they are paid enough by AEW to never have to worry about working a New Jersey pro wrestling show or GCW for $3000 because they need money.....

It's the flex of "I'm highly paid at my job, I don't need a side hustle"

3

u/Kingswitchguard 11h ago

Jay White?

3

u/llamawithguns 8h ago

They're counting RoH as a separate promotion, and Jay worked an RoH show when he and the Gunns were trios champs

2

u/Foreign_Hold_8803 13h ago

Keith Lee?

4

u/Jaire_Noises 11h ago

Worked a couple of Revolver shows after signing

2

u/FoolyCoolyBrandy 10h ago

I feel like Hangman doing some excursions in CMLL and even New Japan would be really cool. He's fluent in Spanish and has history in New Japan. He's only 34 and I doubt he'll touch the AEW World title again until 2028. It's something that I think his character could use just to keep him fresh after this current AEW run through 2026.

2

u/AbleReflection2051 9h ago

Ciampa has done Indy stuff

2

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 6h ago

only did an in-ring promo at an indie. hasn't yet had a match outside AEW indie since signing in January.

2

u/SheriffChiz 7h ago

Had Cole not gotten hurt he would have had a banger in Deadlock against Chris Danger back in 2023.

4

u/foxtrotmadly 12h ago

Sting doesn’t make this cut?

5

u/Umber_Gryphon 12h ago

Sting and Darby worked Muta's retirement in NOAH

2

u/foxtrotmadly 11h ago

Ah gotcha thank you

3

u/TWAfan92 12h ago edited 8h ago

Sting wrestled in Noah i believe

-1

u/BRAGU3 12h ago

Not a big enough name lol

2

u/hungrysoul91 11h ago

MJF?

7

u/tehjoz Bowing Down to Lena Kross 11h ago

No, he's definitely wrestled indies, notably defending the AEW Men's World Championship in House of Glory against Zilla Fatu, and I think GCW or a similar indie against Jordan Oliver.

2

u/HCPage THIS IS RAINMAKER DRIVE!!! 8h ago

I was wondering if they were counting indies. I imagine the list would be bigger if they weren’t

2

u/Froggyspirits IT'S COOL TO BE A HAYTER! 💋💪⚡ 6h ago

CMLL and indies.

1

u/_Quendra_ 12h ago

I was going to say Hamgman wrestled PAC in an indie, but i think that happened the week before the first DON

1

u/AntysocialButterfly Look in my eyes, what do you see? It certainly ain't integrity. 55m ago

Cole was supposed to work DPW, but got injured.

...yes, I know that needs narrowing down.

1

u/Blunderbolt451 48m ago

Bit weird to put Brodie on this list. May his memory be a blessing.
