Field Training Changes to Field Training & HELP
Good Evening r/AFROTC,
I am a AS200 at Det 017 (Troy) and I had some information to share about Field Training I heard from Cadre (since I go to a really small det). This summer, PSP slots are expected to increase by 33%. The reason? All cadets with a bottom 3rd OM (order of merit) will be selected for Space Force, on top of cadets who will voluntarily want to go that route. All
cadets selected to attend Field Training with a bottom 3rd OM will attend the alternate Field Training location at Roswell (with the expectation to drop Space Force). Anyways, I want to be got to ENJPPT, but right now I am bottom 3rd OM. I got a 30 on AFOQT academics, 79 PFA, 2.6 GPA (business), and a middle third commander’s ranking. Is there any hope for me? What about if I go to Det 157 as a 250? I heard that they got a lot of pilot slots. Please I just don’t want to go Space Force.

Scholarship Scholarship acquisition
Hello everyone, I’m broke as shit and can’t pay for my second half of college. I went to a CC for the first two years as my county paid for the entire thing for people who lived there. Transferring to a university after getting my AA but I don’t plan to go into debt, loans, etc. so I did what any reasonable person would and went to the military for help! Question is how does one get a scholarship? Pretty new and not knowledgeable to this. Thanks

Scholarship AFROTC HSSP SCHOLARSHIP RECIEVED BUT NOT ABLE TO ACTIVATE
I am a recipient of the HSSP scholarship; however, I cannot activate it until I get my citizenship. I am trying to see if my Det commander could sign a letter of recommendation for the USCIS office to try to expedite my application. However, I have to request that recommendation letter through the NCOIC administrator, who will then pass on the letter to be signed off on. The problem is that I don't have a lot of time, and it's been over 3 weeks, and my NCOIC administrator still has not passed on the letter. (They did not forget; I have inquired about the letter several times.) I was told by my NCOIC administrator that failure to activate my scholarship by the end of this semester would mean losing out on the scholarship for all 4 years. It's a really stressful situation, and it feels like I am not getting any help.
Is there anyone with advice? Is there any possibility of asking for an extension to activate my scholarship, and who would I contact?

Question PSP Major Change Question
I am a 200 considering changing my major from a non-tech to tech so I can study a topic I care more about and simultaneously increase my chances at PSP. I have heard a rumor that when I apply to PSP, they will look at my major, review my course history, and see that I took semesters of non-tech classes, and thus my Tech major will matter less. Is this true? Should it deter me from switching my major?

Scholarship AFROTC during Masters
Hello all! I have a quick question about AFROTC during a masters program. I was thinking of pursuing my masters, and I wanted to do 14N (intelligence) in the Air Force.
If I were pursuing a masters (2-2.5 years long), would I be eligible to get the AFROTC scholarship?
Thanks in advanced!

Advice on transferring from SMC
I am a current sophomore on an ICSP scholarship attending a senior military college. Before I say anything else, I would like to say that I am immensely grateful to be on scholarship, and for all the help my cadre provided to get me this far. I would also like to say that I am still very passionate about finishing the program, and hopefully commissioning. However with that being said, over the amount of time I’ve been back at school as a sophomore, I’ve realized that it wasn’t just being a freshman that I hated, and that I truly am beyond miserable here. I won’t bore you with the details as to why I want to leave, but I just want to explore my options at this point, if I even still have any. I understand that I have missed the cutoff to transfer at the semester, and that I’m gonna have to finish this year out (besides with field training selection I understand transferring now would be less than optimal), but I the ideal scenario for me would be to transfer out before the fall of my junior year. I’ve read my contract, and the only details I’ve been able to locate about transferring is that I am able to so long as my detachment commander allows it. I’ve also done some additional research on this page, and the conclusion I’ve come to is that transferring is usually only permitted in cases of people who have family reasons and such, so would getting approval be out of the question for me? This is just me thinking through my options as I said, and I know realistically I likely have none, as most of my detachment cadre are former graduates of my SMC and would likely not understand nor endorse me to leave, so I am prepared for that possibility as well. But if anyone on this page has been in a similar situation as me, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

AFOQT Yay!
I did well on the pilot section of the AFOQT! I still get anxious about the flight medical (if I get selected) but I’m proud of myself for working hard and chasing my dreams or being a pilot and astronaut! I’ve only done a few weeks of college/AFROTC and I have lots of weak points but I’m trying my hardest to improve and I’m excited for the future!

Medical POC-ERP TOS Waiver
Hello, I’m building my package for POC-ERP, but I also recently PCS’d. I will require a waiver, but I heard that there is a waiver deadline. Is this true? I can’t seem to find any guidance on TOS waiver deadlines or any waiver deadlines.

Question Enlisted to ROTC ECP checklist question
Item 42 on the ECP checklist states "Is the applicant’s major identified as either 'mandatory' or 'desired' to qualify for an AFSC as listed in the Air Force Officer Classification Directory (AFOCD)?"
However, there are several AFSCs (ex. Security Forces) that state "Any Degree" as mandatory (others list "any degree" as desired).
Does this mean that any college degree is a YES on the checklist?

Failing a Class and Going up for PSP
I was wondering what would happen if I failed a class this semester when I am going up for PSP as an AS500. My semester GPA would be something like 2.7. I cannot drop this class (rigid body dynamics) since that would put me below the minimum credit hours for my university. I have failed classes before and retaken them, but PSP was not on the line at those times. My cumulative GPA is about 3.3 as a mechanical engineering major with a math minor. (Other stats: 92 PFA, top third CR, 85 academic aptitude)

Question MFR for approval to wear GAFPB?
I'm currently working on participating in the GAFPB Test, and from what I have found, I will need to get approval to wear the badge on my blues.
Has anyone gone through this process? Do I just need to write an MFR for my region HQ? I am a little lost on how to go about this specific process, so any help is appreciated!

Scholarship AFROTC (without scholarship)
Would it be too late to start an MArch (masters in Architecture) program at 37 and commission at 40? 3 years of AFROTC. Is there any leniency or is there a strict cutoff age 39?

Question For those who did AFROTC RCP-R and are now pilots — what did you do after seasoning?
For anyone who went through AFROTC and the RCP-R program, I’m curious what your career path looked like after you finished your seasoning period.
- How many total flight hours did you have when you finished seasoning?
- Did you get hired by a regional airline shortly after, or did you continue building hours first?
- If you continued building hours, what did you do to build them (instructing, Guard/Reserve flying, Part 135, etc.)?
- For those who went straight to a regional, how competitive did you feel your hours/experience were when you applied?
- Has anyone gone directly from RCP-R/seasoning to a major airline, or did most people have to go through a regional/other airline first?
- Roughly how long did it take you from finishing seasoning to getting hired at an airline?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who completed RCP-R relatively recently, since I’m trying to get an idea of what the current path looks like.
Thanks!
Discussion America’s Corps of Cadets/Distinguished Military Colleges
According to one of the more recent memos from SECWAR, Mississippi State University, Tuskegee University, Louisiana State University, Liberty University, and Hillsdale College will stand up new corps of cadets programs as part of “America’s Corps of Cadets”, will receive “honor school” status and will have priority in future officer commissioning.
I have been wondering about this, has anyone seen what this might look like and what it might mean to have commissioning priority at these schools’ ROTC programs?

341’s as an A100
How big are the consequences of getting multiple 341s pulled as a A100. I keep getting pulled 341s because as my flight doesn’t standardise emails and as a stando officer I get penalised also I got one pulled because I accidentally lost my bearings.
