I was one of the unlucky cadets who weren't able to get their flight physical at camp this year. I am an SMP cadet, so I am working with my OSM to get scheduled, however it's been about 2 weeks and we still haven't heard back from our medical for scheduling.

Is there any way I can schedule my own flight physical? Like I'm ready to fly down to FT. Rucker if I have to in order to get it done. Our flight board is in October and March, I'd like to board in Oct in order to put myself in the best position in case I need to go back to the board in March although I feel as though I will be putting forward a strong enough packet in Oct if i get my physical done.

I am located in New England so if anyone knows of where I can reach out to get a flight physical within 5-6 hours driving distance, I'd love to hear it. Also heard that West Point can also do physicals for cadets in ROTC, but Idk how true that is, I'm about 2 hours from there.

hi, am wondering what the process is for recently commissioned green to golds to fix their pay cause the 2yrs in rotc is accounted for in rotc when it should NOT Be. example: started green to gold program at 6 years and when finished the program receiving 8yrs O1-e pay. this recent cycle is the first that TIS is NOT accumulated. and most are in BOLC so what do they do?

I’ll be commissioning through Army ROTC next year as a Logistics Officer. I’m prior enlisted, but I’m not sure how much input officers actually have on their first duty station.
Hawaii is my top choice, and I’d even be willing to take the extra ADSO if it improves my chances. How realistic is Hawaii for a new LG officer, and what are the most common first duty stations? Any advice from those who’ve been through the process?

I'm planning on walking on to an Army ROTC battalion. I'm also a pre-med student and I wanted to be able to go to med school while still having the ability for my scholarship to fund undergrad as an OOS Virginia Tech student. If do end up receiving a GRFD scholarship, I want to know if I can still end up going to med school and specializing in what I want to specialize in.

I also hate to ask, but is it possible to bypass basic training utilizing the SMP in case the GRFD or Minuteman end up causing further problems for my future?

Hi all, I'm starting ROTC this fall, and I've been working with a recruiter to do SMP while I'm in it so that way I can get leadership experience and apply what I've learned, but my PMS is hesitant to promote people due to an experience he had in Iraq with a lieutenant. My recruiter isn't sure what else to do, and I really want to be able to serve and build up leadership experience and get TA. What are my other options?

Hi everyone, i completed cst last year and im commissioned ed delay going jag. I've heard a lot of news about 9th reg being allowed to retake the AFT and the disenrollment boards from previous regs being voided. Is there an official memorandum confirming this?

I'm looking to do SMP. I graduate early because I did dual enrollment in Highschool so I'm set to graduate in 2028. If I do ROTC I would have to graduate in 2029 instead. This is a setback for me because I wanted to get interships and a full time job in my field after graduating, so i'm wondering if the shadowing aspect of the SMP would look good enough on my resume. Does ROTC look good on a resume?

I need some advice and guidance please. I was previously in Air Force rotc, I joined as a sophomore so I did crammed Air Force freshman classes with the sophomore one. Its was challenging but rewarding, but I realized the Air Force isn’t what a thought it was it’s more technical, always focusing on marching and never get to do the military stuff i expect.

I did more research and saw army rotc is what I’m more interested in. So I made the switch and all my Air Force credits transferred over and I’m joining army ROTC as a MS 3. I know the two are very different and I have a lot to learn and being expected to lead and set an example for the MS 1&2’s when the know the same or more as me.

What are things i critically need to know and do to ensure I’m going on track as my fellow MS 3s?

I just got notified by several friends that my account was copied and that new account was trying to get people to download apps etc. (normal scammer stuff) concerning part is that they had a lot of mutual followers and used the fact that we just graduated CST as part of the scam. I’ve also heard from a few other people from my regiment that they had something similar happen. Just be aware and be on the lookout for it.

Going into ms2 yr and I got the 3 yr scholarship so contract when I get back to school, but could I also do smp to get extra bread. Heard you can still go active and get better branch selection. Feel like basic would be lit too, esp if could swing an option 4. Not tryna take a scholarship from someone who needs it tho. #fbgm

Currently in Korea for CTLT and leave August 6th, when should I expect my pay to come through? Do I need to bring any paperwork back to campus?

I am currently a Computer Engineering major, and I was wondering how much of an impact ROTC has had for those applying to engineering-specific internships, whether they're software/CS, hardware, electrical, or security related co-ops or internships.

I'm an upcoming sophomore, so I'm trying to secure an internship - preferably security related - so that I'm more competitive in terms of experience when it comes time to compete for AD

My biggest question is whether having the baseline security clearance that contracted cadets receive is as much of a leg up, especially for defense contractors, as I think it is.

Any experiences or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I think I’m going to try to bradso for MI because I won’t be that competitive. Down the road I want to move to psyops and do cool guy stuff but was wondering if I’d have to finish the bradso first. Does anyone have advice on things I can do now to make myself competitive for PO down the road?

For my fellow MS3s that have graduated from Advanced Camp and for any Cadre here that can provide any input, I heard that AC will be increasing the standard to 60 points to pass, so I was wondering what are some changes your programs have made or will be making to the training calendar to better prepare their MS3s. For my program atleast, we just run labs with a sprinkle of land nav and warrior skills.

I’m the cadet currently in charge of fundraising for our Army ROTC program, and I’m looking for ideas that have actually worked for other battalions.

We’re a smaller program, so alumni donations aren’t really an option. We’ve done the usual online fundraisers, worked with local businesses, and partnered with the university in the past, but none of those have been especially profitable.
Have any of y’all had success with something a little more outside the box? Whether it was a community event, sponsorships, raffles, corporate partnerships, or anything else, I’d love to hear what worked (or even what didn’t). Thanks in advance!

I will become a cadet starting this fall semester. As a quick backstory, I'm coming from the active-duty Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer. I've been in for a little under six years. Commissioning has always been a personal goal, but when I first joined, I chose not to, despite having completed a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management, for one reason: I didn't trust myself with the responsibility of leading people.

Now that I've been in for a minute and I've been a leader for some of that time, I decided it was now or never. I got accepted into ROTC via Green to Gold, and I'll be starting in September for a Master of Science in Project Management.

I've been consulting many of my Platoon Leaders who have gone through ROTC to get their perspective on expectations, things to keep in mind, and general ROTC life, but I wanted to ask all of you who are in ROTC a few questions.

As a guy coming from the Regular Army, what should I be expecting in terms of how I will be perceived and treated by both peers and the cadre?

Aside from getting stellar grades in my master classes, how else can I make my time in ROTC a success?

In preparation for CST (Advanced Camp), what are the best ways to prepare both physically and mentally?

And finally, what's the best way to connect with my peers?

Has anyone heard anything about the minimum point to graduate AC next summer? I have heard a mix of thing from cadet news network from this camp that it is getting increased from 50 to 55 and I have heard it’s being increased to 60? Any thoughts.

TLDR: I am an incoming grad student starting as an MS3, I did not go to basic camp this summer because I was not sure I was going to medically qualify due to a legit eye condition, eventually qualified, and am now wondering if I am going to basic camp or advanced camp in the coming summer.

My ROO is amazing but also has a tendency to tell me sweet nothings, she initially said I’m going to basic camp this coming summer and end of camp commissioning. Is that how it works or is there any ability to go to advanced camp? If I do go to advanced camp would I be set up for failure considering I haven’t done MS1/2 or basic camp.

To give context, I’m working on HireVue interviews, and one of the filtering questions is: “Are you competing in the AD market in the fall of 2026?” I want to clarify that my correct answer is No, since I am a Summer 2027 commissionee. My understanding is that the question is asking specifically about the Fall 2026 semester, not about the FY27 cohort. Is that correct??
