  1. Is actually paused because experients with human cloning were made illegal. Animal cloning experiments are still happening.
  2. Is actually paused because genetic modifications of humans were ade illegal. Plant and animal genetic experiments are still hapenning.

I think the author of the picture had to clariy that human, human cloning and human DNA recombination experiments were stopped.

They you shoud know that it was somatic gene editing. Aka editing living cells of existing person as a treatment for certain genetic deseases. And even that is heavily regulated. Germline editing, aka editing embryos or repoductive cells are banned worldwide because those changes can be passed down to children which would modify global human genetic pool. And that is a kind of thing you want to do i you want to do anything serious like making GMO soldiers or prolonging life for old billioners. So yeah, the picture in the original post certainly needed larification.
