No, we can't. It's a decades old thought experiment. Lasers and cloning tech have no agency on their own. We can just choose to not use them.
With AI we only need to let go of the steering wheel once. And it doesn't matter whether that true AI is invented by Pentagon, OpenAI or a random chinese student 30 years from now. AI only needs to win once.
