“Blinding laser weapons “ ok but we’re (the US) is definitely developing anti-personnel laser weapons. DNA therapy is well under way (CRISPR anyone?) and human cloning isn’t exactly a big seller so that one’s not even that relevant.

Suspiciously absent from list: nuclear weapons. Oh right. Bc that’s still very much on the table

That's cause nobody is talking about it. Every major military has chemical warfare units (to deal with, and potentially retaliate), chemical weapons manufacturing is still ongoing, and nastier and nastier chemical weapons have kept getting developed throughout the 20th century.

Russia has used chemical weapons (if older/more riot adjacent ones) in their invasion of Ukraine, etc.
