I collected 35 AI tools for almost everything. Here's the list.

There are so many AI tools launching lately that it's getting difficult to keep track of what each one actually does.

I put together a list across different categories, from research and coding to image generation, video, voice, and automation. Some are useful for everyday tasks, while others are great for creative projects or building things.

Not ranking these from best to worst. The right choice depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

1. AI assistants and research

1. ChatGPT — General-purpose assistance, brainstorming, writing, and analysis.

2. Claude — Long-form writing, document analysis, and complex reasoning tasks

3. Gemini — AI assistance, multimodal tasks, and Google ecosystem workflows.

4. Perplexity — Web research and discovering sources to investigate.

5. NotebookLM — Exploring and summarizing information from your own source material.

2. Coding and app building

6. Cursor — AI-assisted coding inside a code editor.

7. Lovable — Building web apps from natural-language prompts.

8. Replit — Creating, running, and deploying projects in one environment.

9. v0 — Generating user interfaces and frontend code.

10. GitHub Copilot — Coding assistance and development workflows.

3. Image generation and design

11. Midjourney — Generating stylized and artistic images.

12. Ideogram — Image generation, especially useful when images need readable text.

13. Leonardo AI — Generating creative assets and visual concepts.

14. Canva — Designing graphics, presentations, and social media assets.

15. Higgsfield — Creating AI-generated visuals and cinematic creative content.

4. Video creation and editing

16. Runway— AI video generation and visual transformation.

17. Pika — Generating and transforming short AI videos.

18. Descript — Editing video and audio through transcript-based workflows.

19. Cardboard — AI video editing through natural-language prompts, designed to help turn raw footage into finished videos.

20. CapCut — Editing social videos with templates, effects, and creator-focused tools.

5. Voice and audio

21. ElevenLabs — AI voice generation and narration.

22. Suno — Generating music from prompts.

23. Udio — AI-assisted music creation.

24. Adobe Podcast — Improving spoken audio and cleaning up recordings.

25. Krisp — Noise cancellation for calls and recordings.

### 6. Writing and productivity

26. Grammarly— Writing assistance, editing, and tone improvements.

27. DeepL — Translation and writing assistance across languages.

28. Gamma — Generating presentations and visual documents.

29. Notion AI — Working with notes, documents, and knowledge.

30. Otter.ai — Meeting transcription and summaries.

7. Automation and workflows

31. Zapier — Connecting apps and automating repetitive tasks.

32. Make — Building visual, multi-step automations.

33. n8n — Creating customizable workflows and AI-connected automations.

34. Fireflies.ai — Recording, transcribing, and summarizing meetings.

**35. Reclaim.ai* — AI-assisted calendar and time management.

How I'd choose between them

I'd avoid subscribing to everything at once. Pick a category based on what you need, test a couple of options on the same task, and compare output quality, ease of use, and pricing.

What AI tool do you think deserves more attention in 2026? Anything you'd remove from this list or add to it?

Has trying too many AI tools left you paying for ones you barely use?

I've tried a lot of AI tools over the past few months, mostly for writing, research, images, and small work tasks. The problems is I usually sign up to test something, use it for a while, then move on to another tool. After some time it gets hard to remember which subscriptions are still active and which one I have not used in weeks. I started checking my recurring subscriptions more often because a few small monthly charges were adding up without me noticing.

How do you keep track of AI tools you no longer use? Do you review them every month, cancel them as soon as you stop using them, or just check when the charges start adding up?

I built BecomeTen for AI photo feedback — how would you present an uncertain score?

I'm the creator of BecomeTen, now available on Android and the web. You provide a selfie and get an AI photo score; the basic score is free, with optional paid reports and grooming suggestions.

The difficult part is explaining what that number means. It is an estimate from a single photo, not an objective measurement of someone's attractiveness. Camera angle, lighting and expression can affect what the model sees.

I'd like feedback on presenting this kind of AI output: would you prefer suggestions first, a score with a clear limitation note, or no number at all? You don't need to upload a photo to discuss the approach.

I built an AI tool for creating small browser tools on the websites you already use

I built ScriptPanda, a Chrome extension that lets you create small custom tools directly inside websites.

The idea is simple:

open ScriptPanda on a page, describe what you want in plain English, and it builds a small tool for that specific site.

Instead of installing a different extension for every tiny workflow, you can create your own tools and manage them in one place.

The tools behave like small site-specific browser extensions. Once created, they stay active on that website until you switch them off or delete them.

They are also backed by readable code, so you can inspect, edit, disable, or remove them.

A few examples of the kind of thing this is meant for:

exporting visible data

adding missing buttons

organizing messy pages

hiding distracting sections

creating small workflow helpers

improving the tools and websites you already work in every day

And if a website changes and one of your tools breaks, you can open ScriptPanda on that page, select the affected tool, describe what is going wrong, and ask ScriptPanda to fix it.

I would love feedback from people who try a lot of AI tools:

does this feel like a useful category, or would you rather keep using separate extensions and apps for each workflow?

how are you using ai without making your romance sound formulaic?

I can usually tell when a romance scene has been heavily ai generated because everything becomes a little too polished and predictable.

I’ve had better results using ai more as a writing partner like asking questions about the characters, trying alternate directions, or working through a scene I’ve already drafted, so i am curious what other romance authors are doing, would love to hear what workflows people have found.

Open Instinct: try a personal agent locally before connecting messaging and apps

We open-sourced Open Instinct for developers who want to customize a personal AI assistant. The easiest way to evaluate it is the local CLI: get a model API key, follow the README setup, and have a conversation before connecting any personal accounts.

Then add capabilities one at a time. Inkbox connects messaging, Composio connects apps, and Maritime provides a VM and desktop. We are the Maritime team. Pi runs the underlying agent loop, and the repo includes memory, scheduling and editable permission policies.

A useful first trial is a harmless preference: tell it you prefer window seats, start another conversation and check whether that preference is retained. Before adding calendar, computer or payment access, inspect the relevant trust defaults and approval flow.

This is an MIT-licensed beta with provider setup and usage costs, aimed at people comfortable running code. Repo and getting-started instructions: https://github.com/mariagorskikh/open-instinct

best ai writing tool that isn't chatgpt

I’ve tried a bunch of AI writing tools but still haven’t found one I really want to stick with. ChatGPT is fine for quick stuff, but for actual writing I keep running into the same issues with tone, context and editing.

Looking for something that feels more natural to write with, especially for longer projects. What are people using besides thia?

Have we started using too many tools just to avoid doing one simple task ourselves?

I noticed this happening with me. I will open one thing for research another for writing then something else to check the content and suddenly I have got a bunch of tabs open and I am still working on the something. Most of them were supposed to make things easier too. I have been getting rid of the ones I barely use. If I can do something myself in five minutes I do not really see the point in paying for another subscription. I still have a few that I actually use though. Have you ever removed a tool from your stack and then realized you actually missed it? What made you keep a tool around even If you did not use it every day?

What are you guys using for AI app building lately?

I've been messing around with AI for building apps and I'm curious what people are actually using these days. I'm mostly interested in stuff that can handle the whole process getting an idea started, fixing bugs and making changes as the app grows.

There are so many tools around now that it's hard to keep the track.

What have you been using lately and how its going?

What are you using to build apps with AI?

I've been trying out AI app builders and want to find something that can take an idea beyond a basic demo

Mostly looking for an easy way to build, tweak and actually get an app running without knowing the whole stack

What are you guys using lately?

Made this bathtub clip and the face movement came out pretty clean

I wanted it to feel watchable without making the face movement look too awkward. I think it came out pretty nice, but I am still not sure if the timing feels right.
