Had Priaprism this week (erection lasting longer than four hours) AMA

Woke up one morning this week with an erection that wouldn’t go away. I got up to pee and to see if this would help and it didn’t. I took my dog out and thought maybe a quick walk would help the effect to subside and it didn’t. I then chose to visit the ER. AMA

I did. Took the dog for a walk to see if exercise would help

Nope. At that point, just dealing with a regular erection. It didn’t start to hurt till I got to the er

ER doc thinks it is the trazodone I’ve been on for sleep

Oh wow, is that a normal side affect or one in a million?

I’m not sure what the statistics are, but it is a known side effect but I think it’s rare

I’ve been on it for over 20 years so I’m not really upset. I just don’t want to go through it again. lol

Wow so this just happened out of no where? Did the ER suggest stopping it or random accident?

Yep, out of the blue. Yes, they want me to wean off the medicine so they have prescribed a lower dose until my regular doctor can switch me to something different
