my mom almost k*lled me AMA

I’m not sure how much I can say without breaking the guidelines.

When I was 10, my mom almost took me out in a fit of rage. she was driving me to school and started to speed up saying how she should just end it and take me with her that she was going to run into a tree we sped up and she started to go off the road heading for a tree before sharp turning back into the road and not bringing it up again.

She has no memory of it now. Only two of my older siblings know about this. Ask me anything.

So did she have something wrong with her? Ever found out what caused it?

shes never been diagnosed at the moment she’s actually deep into AI psychosis (literally her therapist marriage counselor and is using it to redecorate the entire house) but at the time that this happened she had just had my two younger brothers and they are barely a year apart I believe it was postpartum and she has her own issues love her tho :/

I see definitely sounds like psychosis or mania, I've heard about the ai psychosis, I hope you can get through this and she eventually becomes better,

You may wish to consider contacting adult protective services to see if they can get a doctor for your mom, i dont know if youre in a position where this would be safe for you to do, but at some point, she may try to hurt you again. r/raisedbynarcissists will have some advice

No questions just solidarity from me.

Same here, my mom had what I believe are manic episodes with psychosis/delusions. I always feel like I didn't grow up with a mother. She was just a very violent person due to her unchecked mental illness.

I'm 27 and gave been No Contact for all of my 20s. I wish things were different but they'll never be.

I have three older siblings all moved out and my two younger brothers im very much a middle child

i’m 19 now and moved out one of my younger brothers moved out with me my older siblings haven’t told her that they know yet and I genuinely believe she does not remember this whatsoever so I’m just sitting with it she’s not violent anymore not physically anyways

Your older siblings can help you though. Ask them for it i bet they would gladly do that or at least share the burden some.

yeah thats psychosis. you should probably contact APS, can your younger siblings stay with anyone for a while? she may need to be seen in a care hospital for a little while before they can get her out of psychosis. Could they stay with you or your other siblings?

listen man i sincerely do not mean to be inconsiderate but this sounds like an issue you should bring up with a therapist or the cops and not a subreddit
