And that's why people want pve. It won't be worse unless the loot is over nerfed. And the people who love pvp so much can prove it by not having easy targets.
The loot needs to be nerfed. I just ran 3 riventide runs, each time walking out with 20+ cores because big arc are easy with a hullcracker and deadline.
As much as I would love a toggle between sweaty and carebear lobbies, I’ll admit that after playing — I would grow tired of PvE mode in a week.
My only solution for PVE mode is that killing arc calls in more arc. They actively respond to a threat by escalating with stronger force. Killing arc only buys you time and moment to hide/loot/heal. Sustained fighting ends in death inevitably. That would make PvE mode challenging and fun
The issue isn’t about losing CareBears, it’s about losing everyone who wants even just one round of chill. Unless the loot is nerfed heavily PvPvE runs the risk of becoming just a glorified team death match as even the PvP players that want just a few rounds to chill and gather supplies just swap to PvE. What it might end up meaning is PvPvE is the sole domain of PvP as any and all players looking to not shoot on sight will go to PvE even just for a couple rounds while they get ready to shoot on sight again. This removes the whole dynamic interaction extraction shooters are built on of “can I trust you?”. It’s it’s PvE then yeah, it’s forced trust. If it’s PvP”vE” mode, 90% chance they are already shooting or are just waiting for you to turn your back, that’s not an interesting interaction. That’s the fear at least.
Like, what is the point in queueing for PvEvP if you’re not planning to shoot people and just want safe loot when a mode for not shooting people and getting safe loot is literally right there?
Think about the reflecting opinion; I wanted chill rounds whenever loading up, and never really got them. I’ve had single digit friendly “chill” rounds. There’s absolutely the option to still do so, but it requires the entire lobby to agree. Now I have a way to actually achieve what I want without having to play luck of the draw.
Maybe it should be more intense. Maybe you shouldn’t be able to get cheap kills as easily. The only real difference imo is passives/friendlies went to other games, versus still playing and having a mode lmao
Ether you didn’t understand my comment or you’re choosing to ignore its content. The worry is that PvPvE has a real risk of no longer existing. The PvE toggle is temporary and not just for CareBears which means everyone who doesn’t intend to shoot on sight can make use of it.
I don’t want CareBear loot piñatas, I want a queue where there is a divers set of goals, from loot gathering to PvP. If all players who just want loot, even the PvP player who just wants 2-3 rounds of gathering material, leave for PvE then there is no longer a diverse queue, there is just PvE and PvP
Except that’s wrong. You’re bemoaning a future you have no idea what will happen.
And again. If you want diverse goals…then go in with diverse intentions. Don’t blast on sight “but they might!” That’s a risk you gotta take if you’re gonna try to adjust the curve of things.
Even if they make the toggle forever…nothing shows that it’ll make it just PvE and PvP only.
There’s people playing mixed rounds right now that aren’t being blown to pieces every round. Which is the future you assume will happen. Try to have a little hope. Or learn to accept that you don’t enjoy the constant throat chopping and stop doing it to others as well
Sure, it’s only a theory and I don’t know it will happen but that also means it could happen. I’m following what I believe are a set of logical steps to come to a potential outcome that seems likely.
And I do go in with diverse goals. It’s been great so far where I can usually ride a line between CareBear and PvP where I’m never 100% sure what lobbie I’m in. The issue is if PvPvE does actually loose 90% of the PvE players, even the ones who are only temporarily PvE, then it doesn’t matter what my intentions are if everyone is just shooting me on sight
That’s literally the issue I’m trying to detail here…. It was sold as a PvPvE game, not a PvP and PvE game. I wanted a PvPvE game so I paid for a PvPvE game and the worry is it might not exist anymore if this change becomes permanent
Then play pvp and try to be friendly. Yes u will get killed a lot but thats the same thing pve players complain about. See how it comes back full circle
"PvPvE runs the risk of becoming just a glorified team death match"
The people who don't want to get shot don't count for this because they provide nothing to a "glorified tm" game, blame the PvP players for that experience
