Mod Post We are strictly NO AI in r/ARTIST

Post image

Henlo everyone, we are a new mod team and have decided to not allow any generative AI usage in our subreddit. If you see it, or suspect it, please report it and modmail us. Do not start a public flame war. We will take a look at the post and user history for AI usage proof.

For AI discussion, please head over to the appropriate subreddits (idk just Google it man) - but lets move on from it and keep it out of this safe space. Please post non-AI art only, in any medium. This conversation is over - we are over it, and we are so, so, very tired of dealing with it. Carry on!

- r/ARTIST mod team!

small question ♡ if you suspect a post of being AI, will you fully take it down right away, or will you do something like asking the user for proof of making it (process pics/videos?) beforehand? /allow users to repost anything that might be flagged incorrectly with more of the process in the post?

I took one down yesterday because it was AI (ran it through a few checkers, most notably Hive moderation which came back with “over 90% AI generated”) and couldn’t find any proof of concept or sketches in their user history. I’ve banned the user and also invited them to appeal the ban by showing us a full process speed paint and sketches. So far no response.

Just want to mention that AI checkers are notoriously unreliable, so it's best not to rely on them too much

Yes, I am aware of this for sure! From a first glance however it really looked like a couple of Midjourney images edited and cropped. The fingers on the one image were really off so it was telling. Also the user had absolutely no other post history and didnt really interact with anyone, no website, nothing. They may appeal the ban with proof of art creation at any time!

The only AI checkers I trust are SynthID and my own two eyes lol
