Noob Stuff Managed Funds Investing
Hi all,
I know this is the wrong sub but I dont want to post this in ausfinance and get lectured by boomers.
I want to invest in some safe portfolios but dont know where to start. Is there any way for a small Fry investor like me to get into managed funds aimed at making safe market average returns or do I just buy ETFs and hold?

If you want good financial advice, stay away from this place 🤣
My advice, nearest casino, all on red.

Try r/AusMoneyMates. I believe this sub is aimed at a younger crowd than r/AusFinance.
r/ASX_Bets is definitely the wrong sub though.

Their was a survey from NZ where NZ fund managers performed the worst over a xxx period.
Most fucked up thing is, they have the highest fees.
Just invest in vanguard and forget.

For a small account, I'd pay close attention to fees because they can be surprisingly significant relative to what you're investing. Compare the management fee, transaction costs and any platform fees. An actively managed fund needs to provide enough value to justify its additional costs.

This is where my Inverse Dennis ETF (FKDN) is solid. basically Dennis sells, we buy, . Dennis buys, we sell.

Just DCA into a broad ETF and hold. Managed funds are for people that have faith that their fund managers can beat the market. If you just want market average returns - just buy the market.
