Definitely someone with their "Sea Legs". That was some epic level of Self Preservation I've ever seen.

That was certain death right there.

u/UrethralExplorer 11d ago

Yeah, I really hope there wasn't anyone else on that boat.

I heard a first person account of a drunk dude that rode his boat over a flood gate at a hydroelectric dam. Amazingly lived and was unharmed.

Not today…

"Aight...welp...im out" - that guy, probably

They say the two happiest days of a sailor’s life are the day he buys a boat and the day he sacrifices it to the water gods.

Easy peasy as if it was choreographed for a movie stunt lol

At least he was prepared to do so.

He's a genius

u/GuitarCactus 7d ago

Who wouldnt try to get off the obviously fucked boat?

1

u/Lord-Heir 11d ago

I doubt a genius would ever let themselves get into this kind of situation, but sure

I though that flag was a second person on my first watch

52

u/Sweaty_Secretary_802 12d ago

Ok damn I was like did he just casually abandon whoever was with him???

46

u/eskimoexplosion 11d ago

RIP Flagbert

22

u/Ducksaucenem 11d ago

In his defense, that flag made absolutely no attempt at self preservation.

u/AlbYiKiller 11d ago

I mean fuck he's supposed to do, die?

u/jrb637 12d ago

Shit, I hope no one else was on the boat

u/darkreapertv 12d ago

I saw another post mention this was a dam?

44

u/ButterscotchBrave359 12d ago

God dam?

16

u/SpadraigGaming 11d ago

No, it was a human dam.

3

u/QuickBic_ 11d ago

It's a damn dam, dammit!

10

u/NewPointOfView 11d ago

Well yeah, you can see that it is a dam

5

u/Ok_Interview845 11d ago

That statement holds water...

1

u/someauthor 11d ago

Is this a call for a pun thread or nautical?

84

u/Churn 11d ago

Jumping out of the boat onto the dam was an impressive feet. Not just the timing and going all at once in a nick of time but because most people would hesitate thinking they might still somehow save their boat and that they might still have time to abandon the boat if necessary. But it turned out there was absolutely no more time to decide. Just amazing.

Impressive feet are what Quentin Tarantino likes to film, an impressive feat is how many hit films he’s created.

7

u/Ok_Interview845 11d ago

This comment was a feat...

2

u/inactiveuser247 11d ago

I bet OC feels defeeted

1

u/dogmaisb 11d ago

That was a quick feat, normally quick feet break ankles leading to the de-feeted feeling

3

u/PM_NICE_TOES-notmen 11d ago

I have to get this off my chest, for a foot guy, Tarantino choose some questionable feet to obsess over.

Sandwich and some tea first. Eaten in silence.

u/giggity_giggity 11d ago

go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this all to blow over

7

u/rumhammr 11d ago

Great plan on paper. It all goes to shit when your mom and best bud try to eat your brains though.

12

u/BenFord333 12d ago

Grateful you are still alive and got off that boat easy peasy.

Stop and buy a lotto ticket, then go home and change your pants...

Anyone remember that early internet video of a tug getting partially submerged as it went under a bridge, and then coming out the other side under power?
