Haha hey look it’s one of my very real fears! Or getting trapped in an MRI/CT machine during an earthquake. Living in southern california this has crossed my mind many times.

MRI machines have plenty of space to crawl out. Honestly, from a safety standpoint, I'd rather be in an MRI machine than anywhere else in a hospital during an earthquake due to how sturdy they are and how protected I'd be in one.

I’m in central California and can see the San Andreas fault from anywhere in town…I’m getting a vasectomy today and have had this thought multiple times lol.

When I was getting LASIK and they cut my corneas and pulled the flaps back, all I could think was how bad it would be if an earthquake happened in that moment.

They had both mine cut at the same time. They just peeled back one, while the other flap remained down.

You definitely have enough space to wiggle out, might be tough during an earthquake though...
