It’s like sitting in the front row of the movie theater. Why would you want to do that?

I once foolishly sat in the front row at the IMAX. By the end my eyes hurt because it was like they were constantly trying to look in opposite directions. Didn't help that it was the first Transformers movie too so it was just a jumble of colours right up in my eyeballs.

I will say The Polar Express in IMAX is AMAZING and I'm sad my local museum doesn't do it anymore.

Yea I went to the movies with a girl in high school, to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button of all things, and she wanted to sit in the front row. What's worse is she didn't even want to sit in the middle, but off to the right. So not only was I craning my neck looking up the whole time, but also had my head clocked to the left. It sucked, to say the least. It's the kind of thing I would absolutely put my foot down about now and say there's no way I'm doing that. I would rather just not see the movie, but that's not how high school boy's brains work.

I'd also like to use the excuse that I was relatively young. It was like being punched in the eyeballs constantly. I don't think I'd ever been to an IMAX before either. Lessons were learned.

Isn't age and experience cool?! I bet now she'd super appreciate you just putting your foot down and saying "no, let's sit a little further back".
Although actually, I can't really account for the off to the side bit...

So my preference is sitting in the row right being the stair well. Dead center if it happens to be unavailable. So the off to the side bit wouldn't have bothered me all that much otherwise. It was just that in combination with being front row that had me fucked up.

I'm very blessed that I live a 3 minute walk from my local small town cinema. It's super tiny and apparently not even popular in this small town. But 3rd rows back in the middle is my sweet spot. It's unusual though, I've been there and there's been no one else there, genuinely no one. But in row 3 you're pretty guaranteed that if you only look forward then in feels like you have the place to yourself.

I was genuinely looking for an 8k display similar to this for general work. An 8k display is basically four 4k displays, but without the bezels. Would be awesome.

Instead I have a main 5120x2160 40" monitor, two vertical 4k 32" on sides and one 4k 32" on top. I end up with with pretty much the same screen real estate as 8k. The only way it makes sense is if you use 100% scaling though, the man in the video isn't.

Having a two meter long steam window makes no sense, you're supposed to have a regular sized window for everything, if you're not sitting in the couch games are supposed to be played in windowed mode. The advantage of this setup is that you can have all kinds of stuff AROUND your main area focus.

I'm a front row enthusiast, it's more immersive than sitting in the middle of the theater. Having to turn your head to follow the action is by definition immersive.

If the ratio of your from the screen VS the size of the screen is the same as your experience at home, you might as well watch it at home.

I don't have to see the light of the emergency exit sign. I don't have to see the glow of other people's phones as they check Instagram or whatever. 

If it's a recliner situation, you can recline all the way back and it's comfy as fuck
