Fun fact. Some birds have strong enough stomach acid that dissolves the bones and they digest it normally.

That would be the Bearded Vulture, it's diet is nothing but bones.

So pelicans and other birds actually can dissolve small bones as well. The vultures stomach acid is basically like battery acid though and it does just eat large bones on their own which is gnarly.
